Internship – European Magnum Marketing Team
Background information
Unilever Ice Cream Europe is a 2.3 billion € business. Our mission is to increase the number of smiles in Europe through great ice cream experiences and increasing per capita consumption. The category is very dynamic with multiple channels (Out of Home as well as In Home) and increasing competition (artisanal ice cream, R&R, Nestle and DOBs)
Magnum is the global icon of adult chocolate and ice cream pleasure. It is the biggest brand of the category with over 600M€ TO and a very healthy growth path over the last 8 years. At Magnum we believe that ‘a day without pleasure is a day lost'!
After a very successful Magnum year with 7% growth and a highly over performing launch of Magnum Pink & Black, we plan to further accelerate the growth with the ambition of becoming a 1 billion brand by 2020!
In order to get there, we will drive business growth of Core, Premium, Mini and new segments. On top, we aim to further improve brand equity through digital activation, (PR) Events and Magnum Pleasure Stores.
Within Unilever, Brand Development is responsible for the growth of our Unilever Brands mainly through brand-driven innovation, renovation, communication and portfolio management.
As European Magnum Inter you will support the team to lead the European Business focusing on two key aspects:
• Mix Development: independent leadership for innovation / renovation projects
• Business Partnering: support the EU countries delivering their business targets and coordinate perfect plans and great execution in the markets.
In this role, you will be able to see both the business and more creative side of marketing and bring the two together. You will work both on global and regional Magnum projects.
In short, we are looking for candidate with a strong passion for marketing, consumer and customer understanding and able to motivate and lead cross-functional teams. Being open-minded with good analytical skills and able to work in international environment are also key skills.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
• Overall support across marketing & innovation delivery requirement
• Accountable for the daily and operational management of the brand, artwork process, packshots, products.
• Support or lead on special Cross Brand assignment
• Data analysis through multiple data sources (Nitro, iO, finance data);
• Support on learning about competitive strategy and portfolio in EU countries
• Support the Brand Manager on the key Brand/Category projects (e.g. internal events, brand activation, POS) and the EU Brand strategy development (e.g. portfolio strategy)
Skills & Experience
You will have marketing experience with a strong passion for brands. You will be a team player, able to build quick and strong relationships with a team. You need to be able to demonstrate strong consumer understanding and a passion for Retail.

• Attention to detail
• Self-motivating and proactive
• Curious and outside orientation - spotting new products and trends
• Strong communication skills (Excellent written & spoken business English)
• Good numeracy / analytical skills
• Degree level education
• Project management experience is a plus, as is previous experience in similar position.
• Digital and/or ecommerce experience is a plus
