To translate this mission efficiently into action, and to ensure that Unilever complies with its own high standards as well as with the technical aspects of legislation, is the task of the Global Product Compliance (GPC) group. The GPC group is part of the Regulatory Affairs Organization in R&D.

This multi-local team supports the whole Unilever portfolio, deals with a high variety in compliance activities and interacts with many functions in Unilever.

Within this team, we are now looking for a GPC Manager Raw Materials based in Trumbull. This role will support Foods & Refreshments and HPC Regulatory Affairs and R&D teams around the globe, initially with emphasis on raw material compliance of HPC Imports and Exports, both operationally and to build systems and processes. The job holder will report to the Head of the GPC Raw Materials Group, based in Vlaardingen.

SCOPE:

· Lead the assessment of raw material regulatory compliance HPC import/export projects globally
· Act as a first point of contact for SC and Marketing
· Co-ordinate data collection and regulatory impact assessment
· Acts as a lead resolver for Professional Service Outsourcing of compliance assessments

· Build and use a strong network of global contacts in RA, R&D and Supply Chain to facilitate fast and efficient product compliance checks (Import/export and domestic), that are required due to supply chain changes (new sourcing location, new supplier etc.) or acquisition integration and other internal requests

· Continuously create an understanding of raw material regulatory data flows in Unilever's business (working with Regulatory Affairs and R&D globally), and translate them into efficient routine processes that can be the base of an IT system and/or business process outsourcing. This includes actions to keep such processes up to date when regulations change.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor's Degree in Science, preferably Chemistry or related
· Working knowledge and understanding of current and emerging chemicals legislation is a desirable
· 2 years or more of experience in chemistry/food science in relation to FMCG products, and familiarity
· Strong IT skills (interrogating databases, manipulating spreadsheets, document management)
· Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
· Strong ability to develop processes and translate ad-hoc solutions into routine tasks
· Independent problem-solving personality, that can delegate up and down
· Self-motivated, enthusiastic and confident
· Strong ability to liaise with other functions, ensuring their timely input to meet compliance requirements
