LOCATION: Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, with at least one or two days/week at the 100 Victoria Embankment Office in London
MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
As a Global Content Producer your role sits within the Global Content team, and is responsible for a range of content production on internal and external channels, with a particular bias for writing and editing. The Global Content Team is a hub of content generation for the Sustainable Business & Communications function, sourcing leads and turning them into high-quality content for use across a range of channels. The content team's purpose is to create and curate the content that enables Unilever to communicate its sustainable business agenda with a clear, compelling and credible voice, provide proof points for a model for sustainable business, and encourage advocacy and participation from our stakeholders.
The Global Content Producer is responsible for personally producing high quality written content, editing the work of others, and coming up with creative content plans and packages, involving a range of different formats and media. They will be involved with writing editorial briefs and commissioning content from freelance writers, external influencers and agencies. They may also support in-house filming, for which training will be provided.
Success will be measured by the number and quality of creative articles produced with the ability to take in complex information and turn it into engaging copy. They will also be key to helping deliver the new ‘purpose-driven' content strategy, and the refreshed ‘Voice' across the SB&C function. Stories, stories and more stories. The team has great ambitions of rejuvenating and relaunching the Unilever.com news and features section to create a magazine-style ‘changemaking' content hub, and you will be a huge key to its success.
JOB SUMMARY
· Writing engaging, accurate stories and other copy (such as social media posts and film scripts) to our refreshed corporate ‘Voice' – including working with other team members to include visual elements when appropriate
· Editing the work of other writers
· Building effective working relationships with stakeholders to ensure our output is to the standard we require
· Helping to drive the continual improvement of the content team's output and editorial process
· Helping shape and produce clear creative and participant briefs for new formats, content series and campaigns
· Supporting in-house filming and production for senior leaders (training will be provided for this)
· Keeping on top of digital trends – particularly in content publishing – to inform the wider team and the development of our content
· Helping develop greater integration with relevant social channels and the effective promotion of content across them
· Supporting the development of relevant training materials about content production
KEY REQUIREMENTS
· Experience of, and passion for, content publishing and production
· Flair for writing, and experience of writing and editing, often with complex topics (ideally with business/entrepreneurship related content)
· Experience of liaising and working collaboratively with stakeholders from across the business
· Knowledge and enthusiasm for sustainability and sustainable business
It would be advantageous to have experience with and competency on social media
