SALARY: Up to £39,000 + Outstanding Benefits Package

The Finance Analyst for ETS reports to the Financial Planning and Reporting Manager and supports the processes for budgeting, planning and forecasting of costs to enable short term control over costs and drive longer term leverage.

This Finance Analyst interacts regularly with various global finance teams, regional controllers' teams, and the Unilever controller's office. The person in this position plays a key role in supporting budget control and reporting, while having an in-depth understanding of the overall flow of management reporting information. The role also deals with a variety of ad hoc investigations, problem solving, simplification and improvement work.

It is an excellent role to further develop and utilise accounting skills, to gain experience in the management of a global budget, to understand the global flow of information within Unilever and to better understand the functioning of the global organisation

JOB SUMMARY

· Manage the quarterly and monthly forecasting process, which includes ongoing liaison with finance business partners for the various pillars.

· Support the annual budgeting process, including target setting, instructions and understanding of the ETS strategy and statistical charges analysis

· Manage the budget transfer process with various stakeholders

· Manage and prepare the monthly and quarterly actuals and forecasts highlighting key variances, initiating any intercompany cross charging where necessary

· Review of forecast bias/accuracy and drive improvement with finance business partners. Share best practice to drive accuracy

· Act as Super user for Global Reporting systems (Victory), provide access, training and ongoing support as well as participate in system improvement work.

· Provide support for the Financial Central Cost Recovery process, including documentation for tax purposes.

· Represent ETS/SC in the relevant working groups for definition and implementation of reporting measures and definitions (e.g. global product category hierarchy for reporting, structure of reported P&L, etc).

· Regular review of processes and driving simplification projects (GLC, ETS ICC hierarchy clean-up), while enhancing controls.

· Guidance on accounting treatment to Finance Business Partners

· Provide ad hoc analysis of business performance.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

· Strong analytical, data accuracy skills and communication skills

· Ability to work fluidly with data and across systems

· Significant experience in financial accounting or management accounting

· Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

· Attention to detail

· Ability to work collaboratively with others on key deliverables

· Ability to drive process and report simplification & improvements

· Excellent in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook

· Part Qualified or Newly Qualified Accountant
