The Customer Manager, Independents role is designed to be fully functional in the 4-Day work week trial.

Job Summary

We are looking for an exceptional Customer Manager, Independents who will be externally focused & lead an area of the business and be responsible for developing strong working relationships with the Metcash commercial team. 

The role is responsible for the Profit & Loss (P&L) of the Unilever business, including turnover, profitability, trade investment and market share delivery, whilst building, negotiating and executing the commercial joint business plan with the Customer.

Role Responsibilities:

· 
Delivery of Turnover, Customer Profitability and TTS budgets for allocated categories within Customer Channel.

· 
Develop strong relationships with both internal (e.g. Category Managers, VRPs, Brand Managers) & external customers (e.g. Category Managers, Promotion Managers).

· 
Develop and deliver promotional plan within Customer.

· 
Day to day administration and evaluation of product portfolio e.g. Promotional Evaluation, inputs to Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).

· 
Lead range and merchandising reviews (where appropriate), working in collaboration with the Category, Customer Strategy and Digital teams.

· 
With the Customer Strategy Lead, deliver differentiated, customer centric in store campaigns.

· 
Develop & deliver Joint Business Plans with the Customer.

· 
Work with CBM and Customer Director to develop and deliver Local Customer Strategy Plan for customer.

· 
Own the short-term volume and spend forecast aligned to S&OP process for their allocated categories.

Accountabilities:

· 
Relationship Management of Senior Trading Contacts (defined by category/customer).

· 
Relationship Management with Unilever State Executives of key MSO’s and Retailers across the Independents Channel.

· 
Produce and execute Joint Customer Business Plan.

· 
Input Customer requirements to internal planning processes.

Does this sound like You?

3+ years of business experience, preferably cross-functional

· 
FMCG experience

· 
Strong customer facing experience and proven track record

· 
Proven people management/development capabilities

Desirable:

· 
Three to four roles in Customer Strategy/Trade Category Management and Account Management / Field Sales
