Background & Purpose of the Job

The US Deodorants business seeks an Associate Digital Brand Manager to lead digital and e-commerce efforts for the category. This is a high visibility position that will create and champion a digital agenda and e-commerce strategy within the category. The right person will work across functions to upskill the whole team, advocate digital innovation, and land an ecommerce strategy. It is perfect for someone who likes to tackle large problems and who can be an independent thinker.

The ideal candidate will have an appreciation and deep knowledge of the changing digital eco-system (paid, owned, and earned), and a desire to create world class brand experiences across all consumer touch points. This candidate will need to be a brand, category and subject matter expert, knowing the right questions to ask at the right time, and providing direct leadership to the Deodorant brand teams so that our brands can reach consumers in compelling, creative ways, while maximizing return on our expanding digital investments.

Who You Are & What You'll Do

This position will report to the Category Disruption Manager and will work closely with the Deodorant brand team as well as Unilever Media, PR/Social and e-commerce teams. The Associate Digital Brand Manager will assume direct leadership of the category e-commerce strategy and growth plan and will own Search Engine Optimization (SEO)/Search Engine Marketing (SEM). Additionally, the position will partner with brand teams to bring digital thought leadership and advocacy – raising the “digital floor” for the category team.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Lead consumer digital understanding for the US market – consumer behavior, platforms, media, and data.

• Develop and own e-commerce strategy and business deliveries including media and assortment

• Partner with Brand Marketing team on priority projects to guide digital strategy best practices & adoption

• Serve as connective tissue between brand and key cross-functional groups including Omni-channel & Inter-Agency Team

• Ensure on-time, flawless execution of new digital testing and go to market projects

• Manage category holistic search strategy and drive adoption of global best practices for SEO and SEM

• Partner with brand team to optimize social content and digital creative recommendations

• Support project lead on digital assignments as needed including training, Digital 2.0 roll out, people relationship marketing initiatives and new digital program testing

What You'll Need To Succeed

• Bachelor's Degree

• 2-3 years of digital marketing experience, ideally with consumer packaged goods/branded products

• Solid experience leading Social Media channels, Digital Marketing and/or e-commerce preferred

• Direct experience leading creative/technical agencies and media partnerships

• Aptitude/passion to learn and use digital analytics tools, including but not limited to Google Analytics, Facebook Editor, and social media insight platforms

• Nice to have: Experience with web design tools
