WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

Assisting the Production Manager: This involves supporting the production manager in planning, organizing, and overseeing production processes. This can include tasks such as scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination with other departments.

Supervising Production Staff: The assistant production manager will supervise production teams and specific production lines. This will include providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that production goals are met efficiently and safely.

Ensuring Quality Control: Responsible for monitoring production processes to ensure that products meet quality standards. This can involve implementing quality control procedures, conducting inspections, and addressing any issues that arise.

Troubleshooting and Problem-solving: Need to be able to identify and resolve problems that arise during production, such as equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or production delays.

Maintaining Safety Standards: Ensuring a safe working environment is crucial in production settings. Assistant production manager will be involved in implementing safety protocols, training staff on safety procedures, and addressing any safety concerns.

Optimizing Efficiency: Will be responsible improve production efficiency by identifying areas for improvement, implementing process enhancements, and finding ways to reduce waste or streamline workflows.

Reporting and Documentation: Assistant production manager will maintain production records, prepare reports on production performance, and communicate key metrics to management.

Collaboration with Other Departments: Responsibility to collaborate with other departments such as engineering, maintenance, and logistics to coordinate activities and ensure smooth operations throughout the production process.

Continuous Improvement: Assistant production manager will participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing processes, reducing costs, and increasing productivity over time.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as industrial engineering, operations management, business administration or a related field is often required.
·
Expected to have at least 2-3 years of experience in a production environment, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
·
Basic technical skills related to the specific production processes are essential. This might include familiarity with manufacturing equipment, production scheduling software, inventory management systems, and quality control procedures.
·
Strong communication skills are necessary for effectively coordinating with production staff, other departments and management.
·
Ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions to improve production efficiency and quality.
·
Knowledge or certification in lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies is often preferred.
·
Experience in project management, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects from inception to completion, can be advantageous in overseeing production processes and implementing process improvements.

Experience participating in or leading continuous improvement initiatives within a production environment demonstrates a proactive approach to optimizing processes and driving operational excellence.
·
Familiarity with the specific industry or production processes relevant to the company's operations can be beneficial.
·
Training or certifications in workplace safety practices and regulations, such as OSHA certifications, are often preferred, particularly in industries with hazardous working environments.
