Job Title: Assistant CMI Manager – Foods and Refreshment
Salary: £30,400 - £38,000

This role is an early step on a journey to understanding how the business works and developing business acumen. You will actively use the knowledge you gain to provide added value insights to the business.

The CMI mission is to show the business how and where to win. In this role you will contribute to delivering our mission by sitting in the Foods & Refreshment CMI team. You will report directly to the Foods and Refreshment Senior CMI Manager. Your role will be to business partner the Foods & Refreshment marketing and Category Strategy teams. It is a role with significant scope and complexity. The role gives the opportunity to work directly with the Foods and Refreshment Senior CMI Manager and to have significant responsibility within the team.

You will be required to:
- Work collaboratively as part of the Foods and Refreshment CMI Team and UK CMI Team
-Proactively identify tactical opportunities for the business, and support your Senior CMI manager in identifying strategic opportunities for the business within Foods & Refreshment.
-Develop your appreciation of customer development, category management, brand building and brand development, in order to understand advertising, brand positioning, and customer/channel strategy.
-Be independent and deliver fact based, objective views of the business. You will provide credible recommendations to category strategy and marketing business partners, based on a consumer approach.
-Operate in a professional manner, applying CMI tools and techniques with rigour and discipline.
-Use your innate ability and passion to understand and empathise with consumers and customers to deliver valuable insights to the business.
- You will be expected to run all or part of some projects on your own after 6 months in the job.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities in this role are:
- Assist CMI Manager in Brand Audit analysis as part of Integrated Brand Planning (IBP)
- Analyse brand & communications tracking studies, providing updates and insightful summaries.
- Assist CMI Manager in providing insights to ad-hoc requests from marketing and category teams.
- Assist CMI Manager in running local consumer connect programmes.
- Distil insight from primary and secondary research
- Support your CMI Manager in the design and delivery of market research projects for the UK business:
- Determine optimal research plan and method (in line with Unilever best practice)
- Conduct and co-ordinate the project with the research supplier
- Manage project within agreed budgets
- Interpret and communicate key findings and recommendations
- Build own understanding of key business processes e.g. category/brand strategy, Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Innovation and Renovation (IPM), Communication (IBC)

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
· Understands the basics of market research
· Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, including presentation experience
· Strong time management and prioritisation skills
· Good analytical skills
· Ability to work in teams and individually
