The primary purpose of the role is to support the financial management (weekly, periodic) of the UK BU Transport operation (annual spend c£45mm) Support the Transport Team to focus on driving ongoing performance improvement through robust analysis of cost. Ensure all transport invoices are accurate resolving any variances prior to sign off.

Primary Accountabilities:

·  Responsible for the control of all Purchase Orders & Invoices for Ambient Transport, ensuring that all processes are in place. Foster a close relationship with all key suppliers to ensure that service and costs are as required.
·  Validation of all transport invoices confirming the service took place as described, the prices on the invoice are correct and have been correctly applied to the service to generate the cost. Resolve any variances.
·  Support with weekly, monthly and quarterly closures to ensure all deadlines are hit. Analyse data and identify risks and opportunities for the flash report.
·  For month end closes validate invoices received versus services that have taken place to generate an accurate reconciliation ensuring monthly transport spend is accurately reported.
·  Provide support for all analysis and reporting of spend vs budget.
·  Establish a robust analytical, business process to analyse cost variances on a weekly/period level.
·  Play active role in supporting Transport with forecasting build for 3PL transport
·  Create and maintain a weekly and periodic 3PL transport service report and share with wider logistics team.

Qualifications/Requirements

Numerical with strong attention to detail.
Good Excel skills
Hardworking, dedicated and resilient under pressure
Self-motivated with good self-organisational skills
Able to build a good rapport with internal and external stakeholder
Proactive in asking questions when required for key decisions
High ability to communicate at all levels in the organisation.
Good understanding of FMCG supply chain
Good team player - essential
