What you will do

The Material Control Intern will play a vital role in supporting Volvo’s Material Control department by identifying bottlenecks and assisting with process improvements. In this position, you’ll apply your data analysis skills to support capacity planning, KPI development, and reporting. This internship offers practical, hands-on learning opportunities in application development, reporting, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities include:
· Update databases and track the status of incoming parts to support management of parts in the process flow.
· Generate and analyze daily and weekly reports to help manage slow-moving inventory.
· Participate in local, regional, and global networks to contribute to process improvement initiatives.
· Conduct cross-functional investigations to promote continuous improvement projects.
· Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions.
· Manipulate data from sources like SQL databases, Excel, and SharePoint to support design recommendations.
· Ensure compliance with Volvo’s Environmental and Workplace Health & Safety policies.
· Promote a safety-first culture in all work processes.
Who are you?
Qualification and Experience:
· Currently studying Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (TAFE/BA in Electronic & Computer Science or equivalent also considered).
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate/advanced) and Outlook.
· Strong analytical skills, with experience in Qlik View, Power BI, or SQL as an advantage.
· Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
