Volvo Group Purchasing is in 52 sites around the world, has 1 500 employees and a yearly spend of 140 BSEK. We have 2,550 suppliers in serial production that delivers 1,9 billion parts to Group Truck plants annually. We are a global team working with pride, breaking new grounds, and capturing the latest innovations as well as supporting the brands and safeguarding Volvo Group synergies. We work together with speed and agility, in close collaboration with, and a strong mandate towards our suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Volvo Group Purchasing APAC is a regional organization within Volvo Group Purchasing representing a yearly purchased spend of 4 BSEK; the team is responsible for all purchasing activities for Direct Materials for Trucks (AP) and for Indirect Products and Services (SD&I) for all BAs and BUs in the Asia Pacific Region. Volvo Group Purchasing APAC is headquartered in Shanghai, China and has team members in China, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and South Africa.
The team is responsible to drive end-to-end Purchasing activities whilst securing QDCF-TSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management) targets, meanwhile we have complemented our strategic roadmap through Purchasing Compass, which breaks down our strategic focus areas into more granular subtopics that help us focus our work and execute on our end-to-end responsibility as a purchasing organization, using a common language and approach. Individually, in teams, in regions and as a whole, we use the compass to map our strengths and areas for improvement.

Reporting to: 
Head of SD&I APAC

 

Location:  
Changwon, South Korea
Or Hybrid: Seoul, South Korea, travel based, 3 working days in Changwon.

Main Responsibilities

• Be a member in SD&I APAC Leadership team and actively contribute to the development of the department in terms of continues improvements and efficient way of working
• Manage procurement operational and transactional activities on a country and regional scale within the area of responsibility 
• Manage supplier selection/ relationship / partnership and negotiation
• Ensure collaboration with global strategic line / commodity team for developing segment and supplier strategies around the world. and drive the implementation of the segment strategies in respective countries / region
• Secure cost targets and KPI fulfillment
• Drive department activities towards wanted position
• Drive the necessary changes, and Secure needed communication with cross functional teams 
• Manage purchasing QDCF- TSR deliverables 
• Secure and Manage resources within your area. Ensure effective performance management: set objectives, provide coaching and feedback and define individual development needs as well as Volvo Group Purchasing mindset, way of working.
• Responsible for Budget & Operating expenses
• Secure a strong relationship with the stakeholders primarily within the country
• Work in accordance with the Volvo processes, the Code of Conduct and the Volvo Values.

Competence & Experience

·  University degree in Engineering/technology and/or Business Administration
·  Strong and proven Leadership skills in the complex and dynamic environment
·  Good understanding of the project management, Purchasing of Indirect (Products), Services, Digitals & Investment
·  Able to lead and execute in a global, matrix organization
·  Knowledgeable in current and future business trends, technology and markets
·  Able to handle uncertainty and the unexpected. Holds things together during tough times, Face problems and act agile.
·  Take good decisions in line with internal stakeholders, with risks and opportunities and alternative solutions in mind
·  Able to build an effective and cohesive team with a common objective and strong morale and spirit
·  Able to manage diversity and offer opportunities for personal/professional development
·  International experience or worked in multinational company is appreciated

Authorities

·  Represent his/her Purchasing area in cross-functional decision bodies.
·  Validates sourcing cases to be presented to the sourcing decision body.
