Collection Officer
 

Role

The Collection Officer is responsible for managing the overall quality of the assigned portfolio, to decrease delinquency, maximize collected amounts, recover and remarket assets while ensuring balanced customer service. Being member of both Local team and Sub-regional team complying with the necessary requirements relating to Collection and Asset management & Remarketing (AMR) ensuring proper and full functions of those teams.

Main activities and responsibilities

•    Collection activities in the local market
•    Direct contact with the customers who are in overdue with AR by phone, email and in person
•    Communication with external repossession agencies, external company suppliers, third parties and other company departments and keeping focus on ongoing cases to bring them to final settlement
•    Main aim is to find common solution with customer how to solve/fix the financial problem
•    Applying collection strategies for the markets in charge, with the goal to ensure efficient collection process for getting full payments of VFS receivables toward clients
•    Liaise with customers, dealers and regulatory bodies in order to resolve disputes
•    Providing recommendations for contract-modifications
•    Reconcile the invoices with the clients, performance of/or support for payment allocation in line with the agreement with the country manager
•    Proposing/making decisions about termination of the contracts according to valid competence ruling
•    Initiate and handle termination of contracts due to default 
•    Coordinate and support legal/repossession cases with providing equipment and customer information
•    Handle deficiency recovery cases
•    Analysis and update of data in the systems used in the Company for both Collection and AMR 
•    Performing of standard reporting and closing activities for assigned portfolio/country including preparation for Specific reserves
•    Ensuring accurate and complete documentation of collection file including the traceability of performed collection actions
•    Follow local legislation to co-ensure with the Local and Sub-regional team current legislations is kept
•    Leading remarketing process starting with the repossession and ending with disposal asset, contributing to the final settlement with the client
•    Asset intelligence knowledge development, as asset knowledge is important for collection and remarketing 
•    Keeping focus on efficient performing of AMR activities, among others, in speed and transparency of the process and disposal price
•    Challenging and proposing new more efficient ways for existing workflows in Collection and AMR

Education and Professional Experience:

•    Degree in Economic Studies University or Law
•    Experience working in a collection function preferably in the finance/ leasing industry
•    Collection experience

•    Good knowledge of financial products & services and collection procedures
•    Profound knowledge of and experience in credit and collection
•    Target oriented, prioritization skills and time management skills to meet strict deadlines
•    Attention to detail
•    Good interpersonal and communication skills
•    Ability to work as a part of the team while accomplishing department and company goals
•    Ability also to work independently and proactive seek ways to gain efficiency in daily work
•    High level of PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
•    Advanced level of English (oral/written)
•    Degree in Economic Studies University or Law
•    Experience working in a collection function preferably in the finance/ leasing industry
•    Collection experience
