The Industrial function’s role is to help the Solvay Group in safety initiatives and support the group's transformation in operational excellence.

Within GEC (Group Engineering & Construction), part of the Industrial Function, you will integrate the Materials & Corrosion department, a team providing solutions worldwide and supports the Group's Business Units in issues related to corrosion, material selection, damage analysis, welding, non-destructive testing, cooling water treatments, cooling systems and water pre-treatments as well as chemical cleanings. The department is currently seeking a water treatments and utilities engineer. This function will be based in Brussels NOH.

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities are covering the upstream water treatments (for steam generation, process uses and make up water for cooling circuits), the boiler water treatment systems and the cooling towers.  It covers also the evaluation of offers made by suppliers for these units and their follow up for supporting the utilities plant managers.
In these fields, the missions will cover the following topics: 
-Provide day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting assistance to operational teams on sites 
-Specify standards, procedures, specifications and guidelines
-Audit existing facilities, including water savings studies, and provide in-house consultancy
-Participate to Capex projects in the related fields
-Describe and assist the deployment of improvement plans 
-Sharing experiences and best practices, in order to maintain competencies within plant operational teams.

Education and Experience:

-Master in Chemical Engineering or equivalent, having a good knowledge in thermal technology
-An experience (> 5 years) as process engineer or field engineer on industrial site, particularly in water treatment is a plus.

-Fluent in English and French, the knowledge of any other language being welcome
-Willing to travel regularly, mainly in Europe
-Mastering IT tools, easily handling databases, tables, etc.
