We are looking for:
The Export Logistics Assistant position plays an important role within Solvay.
We count on you for:
· Coordinate all Container Export logistics operations of Soda Ash and Derivatives, in an efficient and cost effective manner, and in compliance with Solvay’s Standard Operating Procedures / compliance manual.
· Coordinate and support container export related transportation requirements with shipbrokers, ocean carriers, railroad carriers, freight forwarders, and drayage companies.
· Coordinate transportation activities with Planning, Operations, and purchasing team according to the weekly tactical meetings.
· Revise UP freight schedule / orders as needed to meet demands and minimize costs.
· Coordinate transportation requirements as planned by the Soda Ash & Derivatives Supply Chain Team on a daily basis for container shipments.
· Work closely with the plant, procurement team, ship lines, and terminals for efficient coordination of cargo readiness, and shipments.
· Execute daily management and coordination of rail shipments in alignment with weekly tactical meeting discussions, and interim plan changes if any.
· Assist in planning and managing inventory efficiently and effectively at different levels, and reconcile inventory with terminals.
· Coordinate pre and post shipment process & documentation including bills of lading and timely payment of ocean freight.
· Proactively identify problems and swiftly implement the appropriate solution.
· Log and follow up service issues with providers.
· Provide support to other Logistics Teams as needed and interact with other departments to respond to their needs.
· Handle incoming inquiries/communications from customers/Front Office and logistics service providers as required, ensuring that issues are resolved both promptly and thoroughly.
· Execute SAP transactions including but not limited to Sales Orders, Stock Transfers, Delivery and/or manage the freight forwarders who complete this transactions directly in SAP.
· Check figures and documents for correct entry and mathematical accuracy for high level of data quality.
· Collect COA and quality data from the plant on product shipped for export and communicate with stakeholders.
· Prepare, compile, collate, and distribute completed export documentation as requested by the customers/Front Office. (COAs, Certificates of Origin, etc.)
· Either create case for customer complaints or input information for the investigation in CRM, gather and upload supporting documentation to the case.
· Be available for overtime when the need arises, including weekends. Overtime pay will be as per company policy.
· Perform other duties as requested or assigned by the manager.
· Perform back-up duties for the Bulk Export Coordinator position for Vessel movements when they are on vacation or unavailable.

You will bring:
· Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Supply chain or related field.
· Minimum of 3 year of export and import operational experience specifically ocean freight for Containers.
· Proficient in SAP and MS office applications with focus on Excel, Word, Access & Power Point.
· Working knowledge on export operations of dry bulk commodities, both bulk and containerized, charter parties & Laytime computation.

· Competitive salary; salary range of $64,000 - $80,000/annually. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
