Job Overview and Responsibilities:

A Driver based at the Snyder facility is primarily responsible for transporting products to sister yards and end user customers.

General responsibilities include:  safe transport of products in compliance with regulations and company policies, loading flatbeds, performing inspections, housekeeping, records maintenance, etc.
Comply with all regulatory requirements plus all Solvay and site policies and procedures.
Maintain a high standard of compliance with HSE and PSM in your work.
Report incidents immediately, participate in root cause investigations.
Support your team in achieving business objectives and customer demands.
Actively demonstrate a ‘customer first’ attitude (secondary to HSE)
Be a conscientious representative of Solvay.  Be mindful of how the company and plant may be perceived based on your actions when dealing with customers and community.
Operate truck/trailer combinations, 3-axle bobtails and bulk transport trucks.
Maintain accurate driving E-logs (Pedigree) and expense reports.
Operate onboard pumps to transfer products to customer tanks.
Operate a forklift as needed to load/unload flatbed trailers.
Secure cargo on transport trailers.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.  Participate in housekeeping activities.
Complete all required inspections.
Be available for overtime to support customer demands as needed.
Be available to take ‘on-call duty’ as required by the on-call schedule.
Other activities and responsibilities as defined by the Logistics Supervisor.

Education and Experience:

·  HS diploma or GED.
·  Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
·  3+ years in truck driving, distribution/warehouse or related experience.

Skills:

·  HS diploma or GED.
·  Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
·  3+ years in truck driving, distribution/warehouse or related experience.
·  Good written and oral communication skills
·  Ability to follow instructions, both written and verbal
·  Basic computer skills: email, spreadsheets, word processor
·  Good interpersonal skills
·  Ability to be a team player and work in a diverse environment
·  Must be able to wear a respirator and don full PPE when required
·  Must be able to pass all required training, including 24-hr HAZWOPER
·  Ability to lift 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
