Job description
The Technician II is responsible for testing and evaluating Solvay Composite Materials using physical and mechanical test methods and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities include:
· Maintain and improve Solvay's product evaluation efficiency and accuracy. Provide testing & evaluation support to internal and external customers.
· Responsible for the application and promotion of Safety within the Mechanical Lab in accordance with Solvay and Government regulations.
· Assure all data and inspection plans are accurate in LIMS.
· Work collaboratively at all times to support all functions, customers and suppliers.
· Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, manage projects and project documentation to an externally auditable level.
· The scheduling of work through the testing process to ensure its timely completion in line with Key X's (Mechanical test time and OTIF)
· Follow all established HSE policies and procedures
Desired profile
Qualifications :
· Bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics or other scientific discipline is required. Individuals currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline may be considered
· Some work or internship experience a plus
· Strong knowledge in composite materials covering a range of matrix & reinforcement technologies a plus.
· Must have strong math skills and be proficient at operating computers.
· Experience with composite panel fabrication, machining, or using universal test machine s(MTS, Instron, United, etc.) and data acquisition software is desired.
· Must be safety conscious and work in a safe manner.
· A self-starter, positive “can-do” attitude, detail oriented. Takes initiative in solving work-related problems.
· A successful team member who can make a contribution. Has the desire to learn, grow, and influence others to excel.
· Sets high quality standards and demonstrates a sense of urgency.
· Strong report writing skills and presentation skills.
