Summer Internship-Supply Chain

Job description

Our 2017 Summer Internship Program is designed for professional development with hands-on assignments. Summer Interns will find a challenging and rewarding business experience in a variety of areas all while acquiring an overview of our organization. Interns will work closely with mentors and managers on special projects, and attend valuable workshops throughout the duration of the program. This summer program gives you an opportunity for exposure to a variety of Solvay's Business Units and Service Functions while gaining experience working in a corporate environment.

Tasks Projects for Intern:

· Create and enter over 400 newspare parts listings into our SAP system. Work with engineers to clarify missing information.
· Work with Solvay engineers to identify spare parts already received and cross reference with new spare parts numbers listings. Define shelf locations in Stores warehouse.
· Create and clean-up Stores parts Contracts in SAP for existing parts that are missing Contract information
· I dentify, photograph, and Create web descriptions for surplus equipment, and place on Solvay Surplus Spares Website.
· Manage Website sales during internship,
· Extend website to Solvay Greenville, SC site.
· Training for all of the above to be provided by Terri Meggs, Stores Administrator.

Desired profile

·  College intern pursuing business or engineering degree.
·  Good technical skills regarding Computers and databases, Ability to group and enter data consistently into databases, and l earn website management.
·  Good Communication skills to contact Solvay unit engineers, as well as suppliers and vendors for additional parts information, and to Create postings for Surplus parts on Solvay Surplus Spares Website.
·  Good time management skills to enter a large Volume of new parts data into SAP over summer timeframe and also split time to further develop the Solvay Surplus Spares website and extend to Greenville site.
