Job description

Major Responsibilities of Position Include:

Performing laboratory work associated with composite material development. Qualified individuals should be fully experienced in laboratory work and be familiar with standard laboratory health and safety practices. Work must be performed with a high level of quality and the person must be an effective record keeper.
Other responsibilities include:
The use of statistical tools for analyzing experimental data and planning DOE's.
Strong presentation and communication skills.
· Thorough understanding of all paperwork necessary to record and document the processing activities of experimental work, including the maintenance of a Lab notebook.
· Record and explain experimental procedure and observations.
· Ability to work as an effective team member representing and supporting the goals and objectives of the department.
· Plan and perform R&D experiments that support research projects.
· Handle chemicals, fiber, fabrics, prepregs, resins, and resin films in a safe and efficient manner in full compliance with Cytec policies and procedures.
· Interface with the mechanical and analytical test labs to coordinate required activities.
· Tracking project activities, taking notes and setting estimated completion dates of activities, consulting and seeking clarification to get job done correctly, accountable for tracking of all materials and data associated with project, and offer suggestions and improvements to processes.
· The person needs to be fully computer literate and be able to effectively use Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook.

·  Basic laboratory practices.
·  Chemistry or Materials Science Background
·  Any additional competencies in math would be a plus.
·  Any prior job assignments or education where statistical techniques were required and performed are desirable.
·  Any assignments or training that involved working with hazardous materials is beneficial.
