The hire of a Chemical Engineer in India (within the GEC AP Process Team) has been discussed and analyzed, for the selection criteria (selection of a person with particular professional and motivational profile) as well as his further training, coaching and deployment for GEC-AP activities, aiming to have him (in the mid-term) as local referent for Process activities of GEC in India. Besides, it is a good opportunity to cover a vacancy going to be opened, further challenging the “internationalization” of the Process Team.
III – JOB CONTEXT
Indicate the characteristics of the immediate job environment which directly influence the activities of the job.
Aim would be to train a Process Engineer and to have him as a local reference for all Process activities in India. Such training and coaching can be arranged by senior process of GEC-AP. Most part of the training will be “by doing”, engaging him on relevant Process activities for the whole AP Zone.
IV. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Conception/design of Chemical processes schemes and equipment (cooperation with R&I and BU Process Engineers):
§ Scale up data from Lab or Pilot scale
§ Conception and discussion of process schemes prepared “from scratch”, focusing ok key technologies and Unit operations to be further developed
§ Process Simulations to evaluate mass/energy balance and to rate main equipment
· Follow up and management of Process Activities within Projects (cooperation with external Engineering companies, “CDI”, other GEC and BU department and expertise
§ Process Support during all stages of Projects (Preliminary & basic studies, detail engineering): preparation of Process documents (datasheet, P&IDs), supplier's selection, etc.
· Technical assistance (TAS) to existing units: problem solving, diagnostic and proposal of improvements (cooperation with ME Teams, and more generally with BU Process Engineers resident on productions Sites)
§ Support/main actor for operational/capacity Improvement and troubleshooting on existing units

The initial plan is to find an experienced or potential one to be relocated in Shanghai in 1-2 years, in order to integrate into team and learn more GBU process/practice before moving back to India GEC to serve local operations.
