Job description

Job Purpose Laboratory based research role within the Oldbury PROBAN® textile flame retardant research and innovation team. https://www.solvay.com/en/brands/proban Research work will include the synthesis of new phosphorus materials for application on cotton textiles.

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

Key Tasks

·  Laboratory synthesis, analysis and developments of new materials.
·  Laboratory application and technical service support of new and current products.
·  Completion of COSHH assessments.

Education and Experience:

Applicants should be studying a degree in Chemistry.  Full training and direction will beprovided.

Skills:
Applicants need to be able to follow instructions and prescribed work methods. They should be able to carry out their day to day work with the minimum of supervision with due regard to the health and safety of themselves and others. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to learn about the chemical industry within a multinational company and as part of the research team. Experience will be gained in product design, application and technical service support.
