Solvay are offering a fantastic opportunity for a placement student to join our Proban commercial team at our Oldbury, West Midlands site for a period of 12 months. This opportunity is open to undergraduates who are actively seeking an industrial placement in marketing as part of their related degree studies.

As part of the Technology Solutions Business Unit Proban Team, overall objective of the placement student will assist in maximising the economics of the global Proban business by:

· Researching and analysing markets to capitalize on new market/business leads and opportunities whilst understanding drivers to anticipate future customer needs
· Providing Marketing support for Proban product range in the form of new brochures, presentations
· Supporting the sales force with sales data and market information
Supporting the commercial and technical teams in all marketing aspects responsibilities will include:

· Assist in the tracking of Business Strategic Review achievement; managing and tracking opportunities
· Maintain updated view on financial performance versus targets
· Initiate and support creation of plans to manage significant deviations from set targets in short to medium term
· Run specific analysis to support business decision making process
· Organise, collate and analyse product demand surveys with customers/distribution agents
· Support marketing efforts (advertising, literature, direct mail, trade shows and major customer presentations, lobbying, product stewardship)
· Liaise with communications and Business team to appropriately brand and market product portfolios
· Launch product/application focused marketing actions
· Identify customer needs and assist in internal projects to fulfil needs
· Assess market trends and drivers, customer and competitors' moves to help define the global strategy
· Identify and help to implement opportunities to broaden the customer portfolio or expanding current proposition to high value customers
You will be an university undergraduate looking for an industrial placement year in marketing as part of your degree course. You must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Self-starter with drive to succeed under pressure. Confident, with strong interpersonal skills able to work collaboratively as part of a team but also to use your own initiative you will have a strong customer focus.

We are looking for the successful candidates to join summer 2017 for a 12 month placement.
