Job description

MAIN PURPOSE

·  Identify training needs, develop training strategy, and ensure execution of the training plan for both the sales and management training functions. 
·  Responsible for execution of core programs developed by Central L&T and modifying as necessary for Japan Market. 
·  Lead trainers to deliver impactful programs within the region to develop the capabilities and skills of all employees to create a sustainable and successful organization. 
·  Work closely with the internal key stakeholders (Management team / Commercial Division / CRC / Central L&T) and Human Resource Business Partners, this role is dedicated to attracting, developing, and retaining talent to contribute to the business growth from L&D perspective.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SET LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT PRIORITIES: 25%

·  Identify specific needs for improvement to enhance staff skills in line with market/network objectives.
·  Establish Japan training plan and deployment methods utilizing L&D team as well as; engaging department heads and building their commitment on the training plan. 
·  Align with business strategy and regional goals. 
·  Define and roll-out the training strategy and action plan according to HQ guidelines and in coordination with HQ and market specific development needs. 
·  Participate in HQ main trainings: TTT (Train The Trainer) for all categories to roll-out locally.
·  Develop blended learning environment through digital platform.

 

TEAM DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT: 25%

·  Support trainers under Senior Manager’s supervision and provide direction for L&D team.
·  Maximize additional internal available resources to complete all training projects; whilst occasionally sourcing, identifying and collaborating with external vendors to develop and/or deliver training initiatives as appropriate. 
·  Express ownership within the L&D on all training topics such as commercial and people development while working collaboratively with the internal key stakeholders (Management team / Commercial Division / CRC / Central L&T) and Human Resource Business Partners.
·  Act as a go-between for anyone with questions or queries regarding training and development plans.
·  Assist L&D Sr. Manager to adapt and deploy the Maison L&D strategy and vision at local level making sure L&D culture is understood and implemented at all levels.
·  Strategic support of the L&D trainers.
·  Drive the team to exceed goals successfully.
·  Lead any company project to meet the business objectives in collaboration with other departments.

 

PROGRAM DELIVERY: 25%

·  Manage the delivery of core and specialized sales and management development programs to train management and sales professionals to act as key sales drivers.
·  Travel to carry out training sessions to introduce the training or strategy to markets.
·  Draw and deliver an overall or individualized training and development plan that addressed needs and expectations.
·  Collaborate with HR to organize/drive Maison’s Career Committee cycles for both corporate and boutique employees. 
·  Work together with HRBP and people managers to create individual development plan for identified talents as well as to follow up the individual career development journeys. 

PROGRAM/PROJECT ADMINISTRATION: 20%

·  Design the training modules that are relevant to accompany the introduction of Watches, Jewellery and High-end pieces collections in the trade.
·  Manage training logistics, translations, communications, and documentations and provide both regular and ad hoc reporting to the Central L&T. 
·  Monitor improvement of service standards within the boutiques through different key performance indicators (Sales targets, Client Engagement Barometer etc.,). 
·  Constantly check of the competition environment: know the key players in the markets in terms of product offer and Cartier competitive advantage.
·  Share and exchange with Central L&T on local actions, best practices, and expectations.
·  Develop and follow up action plans related to results of Client Engagement Barometer.
·  Visit boutiques regularly to see their boutique situations and communicate with Commercial Team and Boutique Management.

 

 

MANAGE BUDGET: 5%

·  Monitor and control L&D budget.

·  Possess selling knowledge and skills especially for Jewellery, Watches and High-end pieces.
·  Excellent communication, presentation, public speaking, and persuasive skills

·  Interpersonal skill with the ability to be engaging and motivating with others in a consistent manner both in English and Japanese. 
·  Self-motivated, independent, and proactive in identifying action steps required to achieve the Maison's objectives and priorities.
·  Communicate ideas and concepts clearly and accurately both written and verbal.
·  Writing and editing skills and attentive to details

 

JOB PROFILE

Required experience:

·  5+ years experiences of developing and delivering specialized training and people development training for a luxury company.
·  3+ years management experience 
·  Knowledge of watches and/or Jewellery a plus

 

Technical skills / abilities: 

·  Native fluency in Japanese and business fluency in English (French is a plus)
·  PC skills (word/Excel/PowerPoint)
