The Vacancy:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Technician to join our busy supply chain function in Skelmersdale. We specialise in producing a variety of snacks including Monster Munch, potato chip every day favourites like Cheese & Onion, Ready Slated etc as well as Baked & Snack-a-Jacks.

The Shift Technician (ST) will provide Engineering Technical support to the site manufacturing operation, delivering optimum plant reliability and performance through an effective asset maintenance and CI programme whilst working on a rotating continental shift pattern.

Daily duties include:
•Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance using Electrical, Control System and Mechanical Engineering skill set.
•Support site Reliability agenda: Identification of failure modes and trends, complete root cause analysis (RCA) processes and drive / deliver the agreed actions.
• Proactive fault prevention and continuous improvement activity to deliver key maintenance KPI’s.
•Support and coaching of the Manufacturing Technician (MT) groups to develop their technical skills.
•Provide support to and involvement in site Project and Change Initiatives (CI’s) as appropriate.
•Contractor Control: Support site contractor activity through issuing Permit to Works and review of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).

Qualifications/Requirements

Experience Required

· 
HNC qualification or equivalent

· 
Electrically Qualified, at PepsiCo Level 3 standard.

· 
Strong control systems capability with proven experience of SCADA systems, PLC’s, industrial control networks, motor drive technologies and instrumentation. (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC’s experience is preferred).

· 
Electro-mechanical aptitude is essential.

· 
Experience within FMCG, high volume continuous production environments.

· 
Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills.

· 
Understanding of CMMS systems and the associated tools.

· 
Computer literate. Familiarity with computers software (word, excel, etc).

· 
Excellent influencing, presentation, communication and decision making skills.

· 
Strong team player who adopts a continuous improvement approach.

· 
Ability to Self-Manage workloads against the correct priorities.
