Responsibilities

THE OPPORTUNITY  

 

Packaging is a dynamic category and an impactful one at Pepsico’s COGS. Year over year is mandatory to find new productivity opportunities through negotiations and value engineering projects. To attend this demand and considering the category spending, a new structure is being proposed.

 

This role will be responsible for:

· 
·  Spend around USD 200M;
·  Responsible for a dynamic and impactful category in the E2E Supply Chain;
·  Around 40 main suppliers;
·  Approximately 650 SKUs.  

 

 

YOUR IMPACT

 

(1) Principle Accountabilities

· 
·  This position is designed for overall packging management including all categories (Corrugate, Paperboard, Labels, Cartons, Bottles, Preforms, Closures, and Cans);
·  Maintains the front line interface with our key Suppliers and Business Unit partners to ensure lowest delivered cost, highest quality rigid packaging supply to the PepsiCo system through supply chain management techniques and corresponding financial analysis;
·  This position will have lead accountability to ensure supply, execute category strategies and productivity initiatives as well as to commercialize Pepsi’s Flexible and Rigid packaging innovation and productivity initiatives at the supplier and PepsiCo plant level.

 

(2) Main responsabilities:

· 
·  Lead a team where you will coach and develop talent, creating succession planning pipelines at local level;
·  Ensure robust and consistent short and long term strategy for all packaging sucategories in line with Global Procurement strategy and local business adherence;
·  Manage compliance to Pepsico relevant policies as well as government regulations;
·  Influence and drive the agenda for Packaging as it relates to capability needs for Pepsico Brazil, talent development and technical requirements;
·  Develop and maintain professional relationships with all external vendors and contractors and improve efficiency process through incorporation of new technology;
·  Deliver annual productivity per established AOP goals and pro-actively lead short and long term PSP strategy and alignment;
·  Work to assure system supply of Pepsi-quality packaging at lowest cost;
·  Ensure we have adequate reserve capacity and contingency supply to meet the growth needs of our businesses;
·  Proactively communicate and align supply and contingency plans with Business Unit and Procurement local and global team;
·  Leverage support teams and tools to effectively and efficiently execute targeted cost savings and achieve results against established milestones;
·  Benchmark suppliers against metrics to assure cost performance, service level and quality;
·  Develop close working relationships with Suppliers to support innovation and supply chain shifts linked to our business;
·  Collaborate with Business Unit's leadership and functional partners on strategy development for innovation, productivity, quality, service and continuous improvement;
·  Remain abreast of industry trends/changes to identify impacts to Pepsico;
·  Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers driving optimized value through strategic relationship management program;
·  Establish the KPI´s to measure the supplier performance and create action plan to support the operation team and delivery the best service level;
·  Will be responsible to support the Brazil market in terms of Innovation (MKT), Quality, R&D, Supply Planning, Productivity and Finance.

 

The scope of this role will demand specific skills to manage:

(1) Finance

· 
·  Financial information management to Finance Team Brazil, ensuring compliance with global processes and management of risks and opportunities, including the management of productivity numbers and Financial Reports for Brazil.

 

(2) Process and Productivity

· 
·  Design and implement new projects, be able to act within their responsibility, through a defined  process.  Lead the packaging strategy for Brazil supported by the Regional/Global COEs;
·  Provide packaging value chain direction and leadership locally and create the right visibility within the region, including open costs structure and deep understanding of suppliers’s tiers;
·  Negotiate contracts for short and long term (if applicable) of circa USD 200 million annual spend;
·  Ensure the implementation of legal contract management process that will cover 100% of Suppliers  and manage contracts and agreements in line with local and global policies;
·  Represent Procurement Packaging with R&D, Quality, Engineering, Operations and Marketing Team;
·  Provide leadership, coaching and development, as appropriate, in order to strengthen local procurement team;
·  Provide supplier assessment and develop local  supplier portfolio;
·  Support key sustainability initiatives covering sustainability and PWP goals;
·  Support commercial and E&E SC and Procurement projects analysis and drive business case recommendations;
·  Lead supplier selection and relationship to support identified projects. Provide commercial leadership in the contracting of identified projects, as required;
·  Bring innovation to the category, TCO analyses  and a new model driving savings at local market level and delivering savings on a year/year basis;
·  Open communication with the Regional and Global team , also with the MSO in order to bring and share best practices.
Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

·  Degree in Administration, Engineering , Economy or Finance. MBA and Pos Graduation preferred;
·  Experience in consumer products packaging with potential to continue to advance within the GP organization;
·  Advance English level;
·  Spanish is desirable;
·  Experience in leading and working on a matrix organization (multi-functional and multi-cultural teams);
·  Experience in formulating strategy, planning, problem solving, project management while operating in a dynamic and outcome oriented environment;
·  Experience in Procurement Best Practices, Product/Service Knowledge, Competitive Analysis, Strategic Sourcing Strategy, Cross Functional Relationships;
·  Drive for Results, Creative and Highly Collaborative profile.
