Job Description
PepsiCo are looking for a Reliability Engineer to join the team at our site in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.
The Skelmersdale plant is a key part of the Walkers portfolio producing a wide range of our Walkers snacks such Snack-a-Jacks and Monster Munch. The site opened in 2006 and is our newest site, there are lots of things we do well there but we’re always looking for ways to improve.
As a Reliability Engineer you’ll be responsible for identifying and decreasing asset reliability risks that could affect the site operations. You’ll also lead the site’s Asset Reliability Agenda, effectively promoting analytical problem solving techniques.
What you’ll get up to:
· Lead the site Asset Reliability Program. Embed Reliability into the site’s Maintenance Strategy and help deliver the medium/long term improvement agenda. Evaluate site date to predict performance and help drive greatest asset performance at the lowest total cost of ownership.
· Ensure all equipment is optimised to deliver site efficiency targets.
· Ownership of the site Major Incident Report (MIR), Analytical Problem Solving (APS) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) systems, facilitate effective closure of actions and improvement.
· Ensure all equipment on site has PepsiCo UK Criticality compliant; support all new projects ensuring 100% Criticality compliance.
· Work closely with Engineering Planners and service teams to deliver against targets.
· Integrate RCM protocols to professionally and systematically define, design, monitor and refine Asset Maintenance Plans that include:
· Value added preventative maintenance techniques
· Develop the use of RCM, FMEA, Criticality and Maintenance Task Optimisation
· Effective utilisation of predictive and other non- destructive testing methodologies
· Key stakeholder in delivering PEMM results for the Engineering Support Department– complete ownership of RE and supporting other elements.
· Provide technical support to Operations, Maintenance Management and specialist functions. Lead department when Maintenance Manager not available.
· Promote a culture of CI aligned to the Pepsico brand values.
Qualifications/Requirements
What we’re looking for:
· Time served engineer, track record in leading engineering projects / issues
· HNC or HND / Degree Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
· Experience in a similar role within an FMCG environment
· People management experience or direct supervision
· Green belt six-sigma / RCA / analytical problem solving skills or equivalent
· Significant RCM / FMEA knowledge or formal qualification
· Excellent organisational skills – ability to handle multiple work streams
· Project management and planning skills
· Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, CMMS, Project)
· Significant CMMS experience, report writing, data interpretation
· Action orientated with the ability to drive accountability within the team to achieve challenging goals
· Track record in coaching and strong influencing skills to achieve commitment to Reliability agenda
· Decision making and communication abilities, demonstrated at all levels
· Strong facilitation skills
