Overview

The Product Function Sr. Scientist role will be responsible for delivering program development for the Product Intelligence program and well as providing global oversight for 1 or more brands within the program.  The specific position will be expected to collaborate with region, product/process function, Sensory & Consumer Insights to lead the continued development of the product intelligence program to ensure continued fit for purpose and effectiveness for the regions.  The role is expected to manage programming and influence agendas across geographies. 

Responsibilities

·  Execute experiments, and analyze and interpret data to make sound technical recommendations on product and process
·  Partner with sensory to execute new methods to deliver competitive advantage recommendations
·  Integrate learnings across multiple sources to develop insights to support the company strategic objectives across the globe.
·  Utilize scientific methods to develop knowledge that creates business opportunities that support the company strategic objectives across the globe.
·  Provide technical risk assessment/perspectives related to new product development
·  Translate product attributes into formal specifications for manufacture
·  Investigate and apply new technology to provide a competitive advantage
·  Partner externally to source ingredients and leverage vendor expertise in ingredient functionality
·  Lead development for quality/product improvement initiatives
·  Participate as an active member in cross-functional teams comprised of individuals across Product and Process Function, Regions, Platform, Ingredient D&A and more.
Qualifications

·  BS or greater in Food Science or related fields, MS or greater preferred
·  Minimum 2-4 years in a Food Company, based on degree level
·  Strong consumer focus and demonstrated ability to work well in both qualitative and quantitative consumer research
·  Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into strategic and tactical project goals and objectives
·  Proven ability to make significant technical scientific advances utilizing internal and/or external resources
·  Demonstrated understanding of how to incorporate business needs into technical decisions
·  Proven ability to manage multiple assignments/ tasks
·  Strong communication skills (oral and written)
·  Familiarity with data science a plus
·  Cross-functional experience a plus
·  Experience with PowerPoint and presentation writing
·  Willingness to travel
