Overview
This role is positioned in compression popping subgroup within Global foods R&D transform product development function. The main objective of this subgroup is to build foundational consumer and product development know how for this newer technology, support global expansion of products and enable medium- and longer-term innovation pipeline. This role will have the opportunity to lead and support of the key projects in support of these objectives.
The role is responsible for leading Science and Technology programs requiring forward thinking in medium- and longer-term horizon to build strong foundational understanding and capability to modulate Compression popping product designs. Develop applications for business problems to solve basis the learnings. Build deep understanding of this emerging newer technology platform for PepsiCo and provide support in lifting and scaling the same in various markets. This role scope in global and multiband in nature e.g., Pop corners, Quaker rice Crisps, Crispy Minis, Quaker Rice cakes, PopWorks to name some key ones.
The role requires a combination of strong technical skills in Food Science along with critical thinking and envisioning capabilities. Good project management and leadership skills to independently plan and execute science and technology programs in collaboration with various R&D partners.
Responsibilities
· Lead planning and execution of Foods Science and Technology programs including identifying the areas of exploration basis line of sight for developing applications for business problems to solve, develop and execute experimental designs in collaboration with various R&D partners, analyzing the results to make technical recommendations.
· Partner closely with global process function, digital, supply chain and other teams to develop applications basis the learnings from S&T programs.
· Build deep understanding of the compression popping product design delivery to provide support for L&S initiatives as needed in trouble shooting and/or product commissioning as required
· Collaborate with Sensory and Consumer Experience and Flavor S&T teams to understand association between the product attributes and consumer demand spaces/occasions via primary/secondary consumer learnings analysis.
· Support governance process requirements for the relevant S&T programs
Qualifications
· MS/ PhD in Food/Ingredient Science or Food Engineering
· 3+ years of corporate experience in R&D
· Strong product development skills with knowledge of ingredient functionality
· Strong project management and communication skills
· Ability to successfully work through ambiguity
· Proven skills to be self-driven and capability to advance technical projects by leveraging internal & external subject matter expertise
· Must be willing to travel approx. 15% of the time
· This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States
Benefits:

· The expected compensation range for this position is between $81,000- $135,600 based on a full-time schedule.
· Location confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
· Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out Annually.
· Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.
