Quality Control Lab Technician (Flex Crew)
**The role does NOT offer relocation assistance and onsite attendance is required**
Flex Schedule - 4 day work week.
Monday/Tuesday 02:30 pm - 02:00 am & Friday/Saturday 04:00 am - 02:30 pm.
(Days off Sunday, Wednesday & Thursday).
Position operates equipment that blends raw materials to create beverage products to exact specifications. Performs routine tests to ensure resulting mixture meets specified properties and consistencies. Performs periodic sampling of products as they are being bottled/canned to ensure continuous meeting of standards including product quality, fill levels, labeling, freshness dating, and container integrity. Records test data and communicates modifications to the manufacturing process to eliminate any irregularities
Position is responsible for operation of Reverse Osmosis Treatment System used to produce the water to be used for beverage production. Performs periodic testing on the water treatment system to ensure the treatment standards are being met per PepsiCo specifications. Position also assists with major Water Treatment System Maintenance involving filtration changes (Membrane, Carbon), as well as system cleanout projects that are part of routine maintenance
Position contributes to the plant microbiological testing requirements that include, but are not limited to testing: Coliform, Yeast, Mold, Acid Bacteria, and ATP Swabbing. As part of the microbiological testing, this position will perform aseptic sampling, and microbiological analysis (plating, incubation, and colony reads/counts)
This job is required to work directly with food processing equipment in a sanitary environment, following GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) to ensure food safety and quality. This job may require lifting/carrying cases weighing 20-45 pounds repeatedly over 10-12 hour period; and continuous standing and walking, manipulating and handling product samples while sitting
Responsibilities
· Operate proportioning equipment, and monitor production lines to ensure product quality.
· Accurately control support equipment to facilitate syrup transfer to proportioning equipment.
· Perform all product changeovers on all lines and is responsible for coordinating changeovers with the production team.
· Perform product analysis using laboratory equipment to maintain product compliance.
· Operate all manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
· Maintain cleanliness and function of lab and lab analytical equipment. Perform calibrations to ensure accuracy of analytical equipment.
· Follow process guidelines and standard operating procedures, and expedite quality concerns to management.
· Work directly with Production/Maintenance daily as part of the manufacturing team responsible for delivering on KPI’s.
· Keep meticulous records of analysis performed with accurate results, utilizing both paper documents and a quality control database system. All records are expected to be completed in a manner that is compliant with needs driven from compliance and regulatory bodies.
· Observe and ensure compliance to GMP’s across process areas, and expedite concerns to management.
Compensation & Benefits:
· The expected compensation range for this position is between $50,000 - $55,000 per year based on a full-time schedule.

Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
· 18 years or older
· Pass the drug test
· Pass the background check
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
· Experience with audit compliance (e.g., monitoring, documentation, variance explanation, etc.)
· Experience with product changeovers (e.g., CIP, flavor changes, sanitizing, setting formulas, etc.)
· Experience operating testing instruments (e.g., Carbo Qc, HPLC, Densitometers, Water Testing, etc.)
· Experience following standards of operations (SOPs) (e.g., following procedures, etc.)
· Experience calibrating instruments (e.g., making adjustments to ensure accurate measurement, etc.)
· Experience with microbiology (e.g., product sensitivity, Category 3 and Category 4 products, etc.)
· Experience with reverse osmosis/water treatment systems (e.g., permeated technology, etc.)
· Experience with cooling/ammonia systems (e.g., able to trouble shoot and maintain, etc.)
· Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., general trouble shooting, cleaning and reassembly, etc.)
· Experience with sensory testing (e.g., taste, odor, appearance vs. reference sample, etc.)
· Experience with basic chemistry (e.g., titrator, pH, dosing, graduated cylinders, mixing, etc.)
· Experience with food safety (e.g., AIB certification, operations prerequisite programs, UP lights, etc.)
