To provide a high level of technical leadership and support to Engineering and Operations, ensuring the site preventative maintenance requirements are executed to the required standards and in line with our commitments to safe delivery, cost and quality. Also direct and lead team to support reactive maintenance activities with the day team. Coaching and developing the team to ensure we have the rights skills and constantly striving to improve delivery and execution.
Responsibilities
· Direct reporting responsibility for MC’s across both Bursom and Leycroft, Asset Care team leader, Maintenance Planners, shift technicians.
· Budget ownership for maintenance spend across both sites (Bursom and Leycroft).
· Through strong leadership, drive the maintenance execution plan & program for Leicester to meet operational requirements.
· Influence the effective implementation of standards and safe working systems within maintenance programs throughout the site.
· Support the leadership in designing and implementing preventative maintenance and condition monitoring systems.
· Work with the wider support functions to ensure effective execution of all shutdown and start up activities.
· Ensure that all planned activities are executed to the required standard and as per the prescribed scheduled frequency.
· Provide support to Shift teams and Technician groups to develop functional engineering skills.
· Ensure effective service is provided through the site database maintenance management system (MP2).
· Work with stores team to ensure that there is an effective parts availability service and constantly review to ensure right stock levels and items.
· Drive behaviour and support teams to ensure all major breakdowns/gaps have a clear root cause analysis and that it is completed and communicated effectively.
· Develops positive relationship and drives improvement with key contractors and suppliers.
· Excellent influencing, communication and decision making skills.
· Display leadership coaching & mentoring skills for peers, and all levels of the business.
Qualifications
· Degree in Engineering related discipline.
· Working towards CEng.
· Awareness of modern maintenance techniques, RCM, condition monitoring etc.
· Experience of CMMS utilisation and development.
· In-depth knowledge of electrical/electronic controls with industrial experience - food manufacturing experience would also be an advantage.
· Good knowledge of PLC controls systems to include programming, maintenance and fault finding.
· Understanding of SCADA control systems, computer systems, networking.
· Computer literate. Effective use of computer software (Word, Excel, Visio).
· Demonstrate problem solving capabilities, 5Y, FMEA, root cause analysis methods.
· Good influencing, presentation, communication and decision making skills.
· Leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
· A good communicator who can work at all levels of the organisation.
· Able to challenge current practice to drive improvement and performance.
· Persuasive coach who can support frontline teams to ‘do differently’ and break down barriers.
· High level of drive and desire to deliver excellence.
