Overview

The Upgrade Expert will engage with various upgrade/migration projects to support multiple SAP Applications globally across all sectors (AMESA, APAC, NA, Europe, LATAM) including PGT program. The lead will be hands-on and also work with key contacts of the vendor (Infosys, Cognizant, etc.) and competencies in India to ensure successful delivery of Upgrade/Migration. This role will also be responsible for technical co-ordination and changes for SAAS upgrades (SAP Cloud Apps)

Responsibilities

The SAP Upgrade Expert is responsible for the delivery of high-quality technical solution and delivery for all SAP solution across all sectors (AMESA, APAC, NA, Europe, LATAM) including support PGT program. This role will manage multiple complex technical deliveries/projects across SAP application landscapes across multiple geographies and partner with other IT orgs (such as infrastructure, enterprise architecture, ITOPS, etc.) to plan and deliver comprehensive environment for each project. This includes build new SAP severs, installing or upgrading existing SAP instances, and providing all SAP Basis function support. Following global standards and ensuring tight integration with the global delivery team.

• Leads SAP application upgrade team in Sectors based on project and is expert in Hands-on/SME
• Leads technically and Prioritize team’s work and assign daily work tasks with limited supervision
• Provides input to annual objectives, conducts annual performance processes including setting objectives and measurement and performance evaluation, conducts PMP Process, responsible for hiring decisions
• Manages a team size of about 2-3 direct reports(Internal/Vendor)
• Provides guidance and expertise to the support teams on design and development performance and architecture decisions
• Works with other Upgrade leads/Global leads and Gets guidence from global teams for standards and direction
• Acts as quality assurance (QA) lead and/or performs reviews on technical designs and builds to ensure all standards are met
• Provide system sizing and estimations for projects. Actively participate in sizing discussions.
• Collaborates with global function sub-leads in facilitating governance and template management, provide subject matter expertise, ensures team’s adherence to PIRT and other global standards
• Leads team’s work with customers and IT partners to identify and resolve issues within defined SLAs
• Provides outstanding customer service to direct and indirect customers

Qualifications

Years of Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Equivalent
• 7+ years of hands-on System Admin in SAP
• 2+ years in managing teams and/or experience in managing global teams

 

Mandatory Technical sills:

• S/4 HANA, PO, Portal , TPM, CARAB, Fiori, SAP ABAP and Java stacks, Migrations , S/4 Conversion , Upgrades, Azure Cloud Experience will be preferred
• Must be able to work as a Lead or also as an Individual Contributor with expertise in Hands-on in Upgrades/Migrations
• Experience in Databases and various operating systems. Know how of Infrastructure including Data center operations and Network
• Expert of Migrations and Upgrades
• Expert of HA/DR setup
• Knowledge of integration points between business processes
• Knowledge and experience in following tools, disciplines and processes are preferred: SAP upgrades, JDA Upgrade, SAP Solution Manager, SAP ChaRM, ITIL tools & processes, MS Office products, project implementation and production support experience
