Overview

The Voice Engineering role in the GWS team is global in nature. This role will be working on PepsiCo’s Global Transformation initiatives related to Cisco Cloud, Migration of Voice Infra to Teams, SIP, POTS and Contact centre technology to modernise the Voice infrastructure and maintain service reliability of the systems across all sectors of PepsiCo. This role will work closely with the sector delivery leads, infrastructure engineers, SMEs, IT engineers, and architects. The individual requires a well-rounded domain knowledge of Voice, Microsoft Teams, Video and network technologies.
PepsiCo has a highly complex Communications implementation that is globally distributed and has varied components, requiring skilled engineering efforts to manage the infrastructure. In addition, the resource will provide coverage of required skills during the time zone. As we progress our strategic journey to leverage the cloud and transform Voice footprint to save cost, this role will also be required to drive global transformation initiatives, set standards to modernise the infrastructure, and provide thought leadership, technical oversight, and stakeholder management to lead global programs across GWS.

Responsibilities

• Manage Voice technology footprints, facilitate leverage and reuse, and ensure successful delivery of global Voice Services across the enterprise. 
• Drive standardization and simplification across the existing environments and develop roadmaps to reduce the overall total cost of ownership (TCO) for the function.
• Development, refinement, publishing, and socialisation of patterns, policies, guidelines, and technology standards 
• Provides technical and analytical support in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems of moderate to highly complex issues. 
• Ensuring the successful deployment of Voice foundation. 
• Provide guidance and recommendations to the Infrastructure Architecture teams on standards and designs.
• Lead the architecture direction and design issues and influence peers, cross-functional partners, and IT leadership.
• Effectively presenting facts and recommendations in oral and written form
• Work to remediate legacy infrastructure and set standards and procedures for the delivery team to execute.
• Analyze sector-level infrastructure and architecture and develop plans to modernize, value adds,/Simplify telephony systems
• Work with vendors and partners to manage operations and certify products and standards for PepsiCo.
• Designing, certifying, and testing Solutions for existing sites, new sites, and upgrades. This includes architectural design and working with other teams and vendors to configure network connectivity and other requirements.
• Maximize user adoption of services through quick user guides, portal help, and pieces of training
• Designing and implementing solutions in the lab and production for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid scenarios.
• Develop integration of Voice solutions with the Video room systems, field sites, and analog equipment.
• Evaluation and development of device standards, platform technology, and peripherals.
• Knowledge transfer to production services through documentation, training material creation, and training
• Collaborate with all business units globally, stakeholders, and senior business leaders.
• Provide value adds, identify productivity opportunities and publish status reports to stakeholders.
• Develop and support the Team, take hiring decisions as required, and be a visible leader
• Communicate effectively through strong written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Assess emerging technologies, stay abreast of industry trends, and advise on investments prices versus performance deal with multiple stakeholders (across Engineering, Architecture, Operations, Information Security, and Sector CIO teams) and vendors

 

Qualifications

Years of Experience:

A leader with strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity while juggling multiple priorities and projects at the same time  
• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• 15+ years of related IT business work experience
• 10 years of relevant experience in Voice infrastructure, Cisco Telephony, and Network Infrastructure.
• 5 years of relevant experience with Infrastructure delivery and operations
• 2+ years of cloud experience, including project implementation and optimization of cloud cost (IaaS and PaaS)

 

Mandatory Technical Skills :

• In-depth experience driving complex engineering projects and supporting enterprise-class voice and unified communication services.
• Proven experience with PSTN infrastructure components like Voice over IP (VoIP) gateways, Session Boarder Controllers (SBC) 
• Comprehensive and in-depth understanding of voice and unified communication concepts and procedures. Possesses broad knowledge of concepts to resolve issues impacting other areas.
• Experience with Oracle SBCs, Cisco Call Manager, cloud PBX and administration of Contact center (Genesys & UCCX) systems, Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
• Experience managing and working with other teams and vendors to configure network connectivity and other requirements.
• Experience guiding multiple projects, leading vendor selections and negotiations, and a strong understanding of the vendors and technologies.
• Proven ability in managing large-scale infrastructure refreshes, consolidating and modernizing voice technology footprints, cloud integration, and migration.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of translating strategies into plans that can be effectively executed.  
• Recognized as a subject matter expert within areas of expertise and certified in one or more technology areas. 
• Ensure the features, benefits, and architectural impact of technology are understood and valued
• Assist in developing the business cases for architectural solutions
• Position the appropriate IT services for customers to consider when deploying a technology solution
• Lead technical discussions, driving clarity of complex issues/requirements to build robust solutions
• Able to effectively highlight IT technological advantages and disadvantages from the customer’s perspective
• Identify technical win strategies from a business and technology perspective
