Responsibilities

Ansible Enablement:

·  Develop and implement Ansible playbooks and roles to automate the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of database products.
·  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Ansible automation into existing workflows.
·  Conduct training sessions and workshops to empower team members with Ansible capabilities.
·  Working closely with Vendor to ensure the delivery of the code is on time and with appropriate quality.
·  Act as a product owner for OEM/Zenoss or any other tools used by Database product teams

Successful Ansible Implementation:

·  Ensure the successful implementation and integration of Ansible playbooks and roles for various database products.
·  Accountable for the automation of deployment, configuration, and maintenance processes, leading to increased operational efficiency and reduced manual interventions.

Efficient Monitoring Tool Deployment:

·  Take accountability for the deployment and configuration of monitoring tools, such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Zenoss.
·  Ensure that monitoring tools are effectively capturing relevant metrics, providing real-time insights into database performance.

Documentation Accuracy and Completeness:

·  Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of documentation related to Ansible playbooks, monitoring tool configurations, and incident response plans.
·  Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and readily available for reference by team members.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

·  Take responsibility for proposing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives within the database operations domain.
·  Accountable for staying informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices, integrating relevant advancements into existing processes.
Qualifications

Years of Experience

·  Total: 10+ years of experience
·  4+ years experience as a database administrator and implementation of monitoring tool for database, OS, Storage.
·  3+ years of experience as Ansible developer.
·  2+ experience in managing vendor and deliveries.

Mandatory Technical Skills

Automation and Configuration Management:

·  Ansible: Proficiency in developing and managing Ansible playbooks and roles for automating deployment, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
·  YAML: Understanding and expertise in YAML scripting for defining Ansible playbooks.

Database Management:

·  Database Systems: Knowledge of various database systems such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or others.
·  SQL: Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
·  Database Administration: Experience in database administration tasks, including backup and recovery, performance tuning, and security.

Monitoring Tools:

·  Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM): Experience in deploying, configuring, and utilizing OEM for monitoring and managing Oracle databases.
·  Zenoss: Proficiency in implementing and customizing Zenoss for monitoring infrastructure and applications.

Scripting and Programming:

·  Shell scripting (e.g., Bash): Ability to automate tasks and create custom scripts for system management.
·  Python: Familiarity with Python scripting for extending automation capabilities.
·  Coding standard checks and quality review , along with documentation review and sign off's

Mandatory Non-Technical Skills

·  Collaboration with internal and external stake holders
·  Conflict resolution as running scrum of scrum would require quite close working with different teams
·  Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Monitor and enforce SLAs with vendors.
·  Continuous Evaluation: Regularly assess vendor performance
·  Unblock the barrier's and get it progressed
