The Product Lead team aims for around 2 days a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings but again, are flexible on this. The role is based at our London Central Office in Pimlico.

About the role
As a Digital Product Lead for Retention you are the intersection between business, technology and user experience. Your success, and that of your product stream, relies on every team member understanding the vision and being aligned on the direction of travel. You will be responsible for shaping the product strategy for your stream, ensuring all teams can translate the strategy into prioritised and actionable units of work for the Development teams and deliver a best-in-class customer and user experience across multiple channels.
The Retention Domain’s goal is to make loyalty more engaging, relevant and rewarding for our customers, increasing their shopping frequency. You will do this by:
1. Building new products and/or iterating existing products for My John Lewis and MyWaitrose loyalty schemes.
2. Building new products and/or iterating existing products across wallet, identity, account, membership across Waitrose, John Lewis and our Financial Services business.
You will be passionate about developing technology capabilities to support current and future customer needs and obsessed with optimising your product. You will be expected to lead by example, with a hands-on approach, coaching and developing a team of expert Product Managers.
Key responsibilities:

Responsible for identifying customers problems and working with your teams to deliver solutions across the Retention Domain
·
Your team’s products should be valuable, commercially viable, useable and technically feasible and be widely adopted by customers/internal business teams
·
Set the long-term strategy for Pan Partnership Capabilities Domain
·
Translate strategic decisions and direction into a clear plan and set of objectives and key results (OKRs) for your stream to ensure customer and commercial targets can be achieved
·
Establish a shared vision that is founded in market research, insight obtained through of deep empathy with customers and end users and a thorough understanding of the problems business stakeholders are trying to solve
·
Develop and hold the overall plan for the Product stream that encompasses all elements of technical and non technical build ensuring dependencies are understood and release dates or time frames are tracked and managed appropriately
·
Hold a clear view of our target customer profiles and users, identifying their mission, pains and gains and clearly state the value proposition of your Product
·
Drive the end-to-end product life cycle development, including key events such as product-market fit, go-to-market strategy and monitoring and tracking the performance of products (including live incident reviews)
Essential skills you’ll need
·
Demonstrated ability in building and launching successful products to millions of customers
·
Extensive proven experience in Product Management
·
Experience in driving customer Loyalty or Retention, ideally in a retail/e-commerce environment
·
Experience delivering world-class user experiences and enterprise-grade APIs, working with complex data sets
·
An excellent communicator and storyteller, presenting concepts and ideas in different formats, depending on context
·
Strong analytical and commercial mindset
·
Experience leading cross-functional teams
·
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities while adhering to time-sensitive deadlines
·
Experience of prioritisation of requests from multiple sources with incomplete data
·
Strong stakeholder management experience
