HSBC Invest is one of the key pillars of HSBC’s global innovation strategy within the HSBC Ventures team, focused on accelerating innovation at HSBC through minority equity investments in emerging companies relevant to Financial Services.
The US based Investment Manager will principally be responsible for providing:
· Support to senior investment professionals and ability to independently manage all aspects of the investment process (origination, due diligence, execution, etc.) with a primary focus on the origination and execution of investment opportunities
· Support and ability to independently manage portfolio companies through the investment life cycle (valuations, internal connectivity, exit process, etc.)
· Support the team in achieving key strategic goals and managing of internal and external stakeholders as appropriate, including representing the team at internal and external events
· Day to day management and development of junior members of the team
· Responsibility for consistent quality of valuation methodologies and due diligence of potential investments
· Lead in the evaluation of investment opportunities by undertaking detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis
· Oversee preparation of investment paper submissions and management of internal approval processes
· Lead the investment execution process including negotiation of terms, due diligence and approvals
· Monitoring of investment performance and portfolio company development internally and externally
For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $171,700 and $272,800.00
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements
You’ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

· Broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within multiple disciplines, senior level knowledge with Venture Capital, Startup and technology industries
· Understanding of financial markets, key trend along with experience in research, analysis, financial modeling and company valuations
· Comprehensive understanding of several value units/products/regions/legal entities, alongside an advanced understanding of the industry and the relative position of the HSBC Products and services
· You’ll have sound professional communication skills with professionalism to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across the Group (including internal and external stakeholders, executive, industry leaders and within your own team and business). This includes experience negotiating with executive leadership
· Have prior experience leading the investment execution process, including negotiation of terms, due diligence and approvals
· Ability to work under pressure and prioritize work across multiple projects concurrently
· Hybrid working model- working onsite several days every week at the San Francisco location
