Role Summary/Purpose

GE Healthcare, a leading global health technology provider, has strong presence in Helsinki, Vallila district. We're 700+ people from over 25 countries, helping healthcare providers improve patient care. We're looking for an engineer to participate in the development and engineering efforts for high volume patient sensors and accessories (S&A) for medical devices used in critical care and anesthesia devices.
Essential Responsibilities

In this role you will: 

·  Support electro-mechanical design and IB projects within our engineering team and with suppliers
·  Design and verify outcome to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability
·  Provide expertise for verification and testing activities within assigned projects
·  Interact closely with core team members, sourcing, quality and global vendors to meet project deliverables and goals

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent knowledge/experience  
·  Knowledge of highly regulated businesses (like medical)
·  Demonstrated skills in working within a diverse global environment
·  Demonstrated skills in proactively identifying and driving closure on product related issues
·  Strong verbal and written communication skills in English 
·  Demonstrated problem-solving skills
·  EU work permit
Desired Characteristics

·  Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent knowledge/experience 
·  Experience in highly regulated businesses (like medical) or in high volume sensor and accessory projects 
·  Know-how of accessory/sensor technologies and electro-mechanical design requirements
·  Experience with new product development or design change development cycle 
·  Knowledge in working in regulated industry under quality management system, preferably medical industry 
·  Practical experience with design tools, reliability and manufacturability 
·  Excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives 
·  Proven capability to produce technical documentation for a medical device
