Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

·  Leads Test Facilities Design Engineering section strategy aligned to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC). Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services.
·  Owns end-to-end quality, delivery, and execution of test facilities systems. Reduce test time lost to test facilities disruptions, improve test facilities on-time-delivery.
·  Collaborate with project/program team on current and future workscope to ensure mission timelines meet short- and long-term business objectives. Provide timely communications or program status, needs and significant issues or developments to the leadership team. Utilize project management principles to align deliverables to key customer needs, goals and objectives.
·  Lead teams assigned to address organizational initiatives to improve SQDC. Guide and mentor teams through problem solving. Identify opportunities to implement lessons learned and the use of digital tools for process improvement.
·  Drive workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning for engineers and specialists to ensure capacity, capability, and resiliency for current and future demand.
·  Lead, coach and develop frontline leaders, technical leaders, and other team members. Foster collaboration, technical rigor, and continuous improvement to deliver against SQDC objectives. Set clear expectations and drive accountability.
·  Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

·  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
·  Minimum of 10 additional years of experience in a Technical, Engineering or Project/Program Management position.
·  Minimum of 3 years of experience as a manager/people leader leading team of engineers/specialists.
·  Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.  We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future for this job opening.
·  This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold US Government Security Clearance
·  Ability and willingness to work flexible and off-shift hours when business needs dictate
·  Ability and willingness to travel to and support operations at offsite locations when business needs dictate.

Desired Characteristics

·  Depth of experience leading teams directly or indirectly; team champion and advocate, with effective leadership/team building skills. Ability to guide, coach and influence others.
·  Technical product management, system engineering, or similar experience managing products through the full lifecycle.
·  Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams and delivering complex, multi-stakeholder programs. Ability to inspire teams, lead, and sustain change.
·  Project management and execution experience in a cross-functional team environment with projects of high complexity across a matrixed organization.
·  Familiarity with aerospace test environment; prior test enabling or test facilities design experience preferred.
·  Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects and strategic initiatives. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
·  Strong organizational skills with proven ability to lead multiple initiatives/projects to completion simultaneously.
·  Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining focus on SQDC priorities
·  Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside GE.
