Are you an accounts enthusiast who enjoys Materials Cost Controlling? We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Materials & Innovation Controller with our Finance team based in Auckland.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for forecasting, analysis, and reporting for the full material cost equation for New Zealand operations including material purchase price variance analysis and maintaining system standard cost price. You will also support the Research & Innovation team with financial reporting, cost control and forecasting, project trial cost analysis, and productivity/Innovation costing validation.

You will:

·  Analyse and forecast Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and investigate the variance between actual and target.
·  Responsible for calculating and uploading all material standard prices including raw material, packaging material, semi-finish goods, and finished goods for complete NZ operations.
·  Manage standard costs for all new and existing raw/packaging materials, bill of material, and raw milk and milk fat sales prices- in the system.
·  Responsible for closing production orders on day+1 to ensure the system generates correct recovery every month.
·  Manage financial month-end deliverables for NZ operations.
·  Prepare monthly Rolling Forecast and yearly Budget for R&I, PPV, and inventory revaluation.
·  Work collaboratively with Supply Chain, Procurement, Product and Research and Innovation functions for smooth operations.

About you

You are an energetic, confident, and experienced accountant with a proven track record as a Controller in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Your prior experience in stakeholder engagement, strong influencing skills, collaborative working style, and efficient verbal and written communication, will see you succeed in the role. Above all, youenjoy taking ownership & responsibility and know how to act with speed, agility & pragmatism.

To be successful you will also have:

·  Tertiary qualification in accounting/Finance/Commerce or related field. 
·  Prior experience as a Controller within FMCG is preferred.
·  Ability to work effectively with both Finance and Operational stakeholders.
·  Knowledge of SAP and advanced Excel skills is advantageous.
·  Sound analytical and reporting skills with good attention to detail.
·  Excellent organization skills with an ability to work with shifting priorities.
