Job description

Join us now as Trader in Jakarta within the Trading function. 

Trading is divided into three (3) areas, which are Equity Trading, Fixed Income/Sukuk Trading and Money Market Placement.

Trading ensures that execution are implemented effectively, with minimal cost and risk, while maintaining compliance.

What you will do 

•    Submit and Reconcile pre-allocation reports through S Invest
•    Manage Commission Data, Targets vs Actual & Generate blended quarterly commission reports, semi-annual, & annual year end transaction & market data for management use.
•    Monitor post-trade executions daily via Virtu’s Daily Execution Monitoring Trade Cost Analysis (TCA) reports.
•    Conduct End of Day (EOD) cross-checking of Trader’s orders by markets for accuracy and correctness, missed orders or other discrepancies.
•    Data Analytics & Trade Intelligence, develop and maintain automated reporting pipelines for trade execution metrics across asset class in Python/VBA, visualisation in powerBI/Databrick.
•    Track paperwork process of IPO’s & Placements; Ensure subsequent allocations are done in line with the internal fairness policies. Maintain IPO summary data & provide compliance IPO participation info
•    Record any mistake / Trading Error from brokers, banks or trader in logbook & Escalate to Head of Trading and Compliance
•    Assist in gathering required documents for internal & external audits, as well as those from regulators, and follow any regulatory requirements that may come up
•    Assist Manager to develop presentation materials to answer client queries about trading and execution matters & ICM Paper.
•    Discuss with fellow traders the pre-placement analysis of which brokers are likely to provide the best possible execution & Back up fellow Trader while on annual leave / away

•    Monitor and reconcile trade allocation data from Regional Team & Compliance Team & Provide Broker Voting to Regional Team
•    Update Trading Operating Manual & BCP Document on annual basis, and multiple testing’s annually. 
•    Use Bloomberg AIM (The Asset and Investment Manager) extensively and must know main functionality & Set-up more counterparties in ALLQ
•    Provide Quarterly Transactions Report and Quarterly Gift And Entertainment Report through Star Compliance

•    Collect assessment from regional team & stakeholder for new counterparty and check the background using internal system as Due Diligence Process
•    Prepare Pre-Trades Form & seek approval to IAC (Investment advisory Compliance) if any cancellation / amendment order that using TIF "GTC"
•    Keep abreast of IPO’s and other ECM deals, sharing this information with the investment team, and work with brokers on deals we’re interested in.
•    Resolve settlement problems, working as bridge between brokers & settlements on daily trades and on specific paperwork required for trading.
•    Give instruction and monitor opening sub account for EQ, FI & money market placement
•    Work with Business Manager/Investment Services on any trading related matters they may have with other trading desks & Continually question current workflows, look for better ways of doing our job, and stay up to date on the most advanced trading technologies.

•    Complete mandatory e-learning & Monitoring incoming emails for information which may be time-sensitive and pointing it out to the relevant traders especially to compliance enquiries
 
Cash Support Tasks:
•    Monitor deposit maturities & work with PM on FD.
•    Placing fixed cash deposits per Portfolio Managers (PM’s) instructions.
•    Provide money market simulation for Distribution Team
•    Handle some Fund of Fund (FOF).
 
Other Asset Classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives)
•    Negotiate with brokers in the event we receive a sub-standard execution not following our instructions, and at the same time keep the relationship professional. 
•    Placing Equity & Fixed Income Trades as per instruction from PM.
•    Learn how to network and scour the market discreetly to identify flow and matching opportunities.

What you bring  

•    WPPE or WMI Holder
•    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science or related fields. 
•    1-5 years relevant trading experience
•    Knowledge and proficiency will be built in Bloomberg Trading functions AIM, EMSX, TSOX, etc, and custodial systems extensively. 
•    Strong technical (Python, SQL, Excel VBA, as well as SAP Business Object reporting software, PowerBI, Databricks and database management is a plus.
•    Experience in middle or back-office roles on buy or sell side helpful in understanding the full life cycle of trade executions.
•    Experience handling projects, corporate actions, settlement, funds accounting experience an advantage.
•    Highly ethical & thoughtful work habits with a strong desire to understand various regulatory environments.
•    Disciplined, well organised, & able to pay close attention to details in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful working environment.
•    Results Oriented and organized working style with strong self-learning skills. 
•    Be a great teammate, highly reliable, exhibit strong communication skills and have willingness to take ownership.
•    English fluency critical, but other Asian languages beneficial
•    Ability to use Generative AI with knowledge of Microsoft CoPilot
