We are looking for a (Senior) Financial Accountant (m/f/d), based in Munich. 

 

The Impact You Will Have 

In this role, you will manage and execute Allianz Commercial’s global accounting transactions and processes within the area of technical accounting, in particular reinsurance accounting. You will create and ensure efficient and compliant workflows to guarantee high quality by considering all relevant parameters for transactions and processes. You will also check the data delivered by cedents for plausibility. In addition, you will coordinate the intercompany consolidation of Allianz Commercial for assigned trading partners. Proactively contributing to projects and process improvement initiatives at a global level will also be part of your responsibilities. In this role, you will show high customer focus in dealing with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. cedents, reinsurers, Group Accounting, statutory auditors, BaFin, etc.). 

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

· 
Ensure that all IFRS, GAAP and Statutory closing and reporting tasks (e.g. annual report, reporting to regulatory authorities, NAIC reporting, other internal/external reporting requirements) related to your own area of responsibility are accurate and timely on a global basis.  

· 
Complete assigned postings, Journal Entries and Account reconciliations on a periodic basis. Reconcile and resolve intercompany transactions within the affiliated company group. 

· 
Coordination, transfer and reconciliation of data from interfaces of front-end systems. 

· 
Take care of the monthly legal entity close submission activities, including posting of accruals, manual adjustments and other accounting transactions. 

· 
Document application of policies, procedures and workflow for your areas of responsibility.  

· 
Fully reconcile and substantiate all assigned accounts. Collect outstanding receivables and allocate cash timely. 

· 
Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements.  

· 
Draft standards to improve quality as well as actively contribute in improving and implementing global operation cycles, processes and workflows as well as the implemention of global policies and procedures. 

· 
Assist internal clients (e.g. other departments) with reports, research and other activities. Identify items or discussion or resolution. 

· 
Take part in project work. 

· 
Manage relationship and show high customer focus in dealing with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. cedents, reinsurers, business units, Group Accounting, auditors, tax authorities, public authorities etc.).  

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

· 
Degree preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting or qualified by experience in related discipline 

· 
Professional experience in reinsurance accounting or similar financial area 

· 
Understanding of standard accounting (IAS/IFRS, Solvency 2 and other local GAAP) in insurance and reinsurance 

· 
Experience in project and team work in an international and dynamic environment  

· 
Proven successful execution of account reconciliations 

· 
Good understanding of insurance financial statements and their performance measurement including drivers 

· 
Experience as active user of SAP BW and preferably SAP FI 

· 
Advanced expertise in Excel and/or Access to analyse data efficiently and draw the right conclusions. Expertise in VBA and Access are a plus 

· 
Ability to manage projects and handle complex processes (closing, reporting, finance operations) including understanding of data flows 

· 
Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills 

· 
Good communication and presentation skills, including good Powerpoint skills to convey messages in a winning fashion. 

· 
Autonomous way of working and proactive approach 

· 
Fluent in English; German and/or French of advantage
