You will work in a small team of senior fund managers, supporting the UK Equity strategies within the European Dividend & Value Equities Team.  We are looking for someone to help research investment ideas and document investment cases, ESG profiles and company meetings. You will assist with portfolio data analysis, compiling information for marketing materials and other tasks related to managing equity portfolios.

 

This is a great opportunity for somebody wishing to develop a career in equity research and portfolio management.

 

What you will do

 

·  Research investment ideas, including understanding the competitive positioning and strategy of businesses, reviewing accounting information, scenario modelling, valuation analysis
·  Construct investment cases with particular attention to the principles of value investing
·  Attend meetings with Chief Executives, CFOs and other senior management of listed companies, as well as with research analysts at investment banks
·  Prepare agendas and write notes from company meetings
·  Analyze and document Environmental, Social and Governance risks working from MSCI and other data
·  Assist portfolio managers managing the UK equity and potentially other European dividend and value portfolios
·  Attend daily, weekly and other meetings to discuss investment ideas and portfolio construction
·  Assist in the preparation of marketing materials such as charts and tables
·  Collaborate with senior colleagues across the investment platform and in other departments.

 

What you bring

 

·  University graduate, or postgraduate qualification
·  CFA level 1 or beyond
·  Previous experience in equity analysis / research
·  Strong data, analytical, modelling skills.  Attention to detail.  Technical skills including Excel and PowerPoint. Bloomberg is an advantage
·  Strong team player, but comfortable with independent work with high autonomy.
·  Personable and enthusiastic
·  Curiosity about the world and financial markets, interested in a career in asset management
·  Excellent communication and written skills
·  Good presentation skills.
