Intern - Investment Risk Management (f/m/d)
Investment Risk Management is part of the risk management function and is structured around specialized teams dedicated to i) Market Risk, ii) Liquidity & ESG Risk, and iii) Credit, Counterparty & Pricing Risk monitoring. This targeted approach ensures deep domain expertise and effective oversight. Furthermore, our risk governance framework goes beyond legal and regulatory requirements, reflecting our commitment to proactive and responsible risk management.

This role is based in our Frankfurt office.
What you will do
- Actively participate in the maintenance and continuous improvement of existing monitoring processes, with a particular focus on liquidity risk (including daily net cash flow monitoring, monthly large client concentration monitoring, and monthly liquidity stress testing). You will also be involved in overseeing market and credit risk (such as Value at Risk [VaR], leverage, and credit VaR) as well as ESG risk monitoring (including the preparation of BoE stress test reports and ESG risk screening reports). Your contributions will help ensure robust risk tracking and timely reporting across these key risk domains.
- Support the ongoing enhancement of the MSCI LMX Liquidity Metrics (LMX) model, an external tool used to quantitatively evaluate the liquidity of Fixed Income portfolios by considering market depth, transaction costs, and liquidation horizons. Additionally, contribute to the review and update of liquidity stress test scenarios, ensuring models and assessments remain current and aligned with market developments.
What you bring
- Currently pursuing a university degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Applied Mathematics or a related discipline
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, at a professional level (e.g., B2/C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Ideally, previous experience in the Risk or Asset Management field, showcasing familiarity with industry practices and methodologies
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with diverse individuals
- Ability to work from the office at least three times a week to foster collaboration and team engagement
- Ability to use Microsoft Copilot, with a strong commitment to ethical and responsible AI practices.
