Mercure Miri City Centre features 172 contemporary and stylish appointed rooms and suites with extensive dining options, two dedicated floors of the conference and banqueting facilities, inclusive of the hotel's social hub, Ruai Co-working Space.
Job Description
This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of food preparation and service in the appointed kitchen(s), according to the standards set by the Management.
· Keep the assigned kitchen stocked up daily with raw materials and ingredients.
· Know how to use all kitchen equipment safely, both electrical and mechanical.
· Be confident with basic cooking skills like chopping and prepping for your station each day.
· Cook food following standard recipes, making sure to control portions and reduce waste.
· Follow hotel food safety and hygiene rules (HACCP) at all times.
· Clean and take care of all equipment in the food prep area.
· Quickly let your supervisor know if you spot any hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment that needs fixing.
Qualifications
Who we’re looking for:
· Minimum High School Certificate ; certification in Culinary, Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia , or a Diploma in Culinary will be an advantage.
· Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a similar capacity is preferred; however, recent graduates with the required certifications are also encouraged to apply.
· Oral proficiency in English language is required.
