JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Clara Abbott Foundation Operations Coordinator
The Clara Abbott Foundation (CAF) is organized as a 501(c)(3) corporation with a separate Board of Directors and Officers. The Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Abbott families worldwide by providing need-based financial assistance in times of financial hardship. In addition to monetary assistance we help clients achieve lifelong financial independence with a wide array of resources and expert guidance – provided free of charge. The Foundation also provides need-based college scholarships to dependents of Abbott employees and retirees.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Case Management
- Manage approximately 600+ cases per year
- Ensure adherence to Foundation policies and procedures
- Ownership and management of a case from initiative to completion
- Manage support documentation and ensure that all required case related documentation has been attached to client case files
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely case processing
Client Interface
- Provide an overview of The Foundation and communicate expectations of the process
- Manage all client communications and inquires
- Request and gather client information as needed
- Ability to relay difficult information and resolve conflict while maintaining excellent customer service

- Ability to engage clients, especially those experiencing difficult situations
- Capacity to adapt to changes in daily workflow

- Ability to analyze problems and investigate alternatives
- Must be able to work independently with minor supervision
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to think critically with an eye for details
- Data management skills – must be proficient in MS Excel and familiar with other MS Office programs and have the ability to learn new computer systems quickly
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work with a sense of urgency
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Good listening skills and phone and email etiquette
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Languages:
- Spanish and English required – both verbal and written communication skills
- Additional languages preferred
