About the Role: (Job Purpose)
"Serve as part of the Genesis S&R team to develop and implement risk-based management programs to supports asset management, operations assurance and regulatory compliance. Facilitate Hazard Risk Analysis including Hazard Identification (HAZID); Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) Reviews; Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) studies. Conduct Fire and Explosion Risk Analysis, Dropped Object and Mechanical Handling Analysis, Safety Systems Survivability Analysis, Safety Critical Elements, QRA, and Performance Standards.
The Principal Process Safety Engineer will in most instances work embedded in a multidisciplinary project environment where communication with other discipline engineers is key to project success. Therefore, communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing is very important. Would be expected to lead process safety efforts on major projects. Principal engineer would be responsible for mentorship of engineers in areas of expertise."
In This Role the Person Will: (Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks)
โ€ข Extensive knowledge of Upstream, Downstream and Brownfield Oil & Gas processes and associated Hazards.
โ€ข Experience performing risk assessment and consequence analysis for offshore/onshore facilities and pipelines
Safety Management System Development
Formal Safety Assessment Studies
Familiarity with simulation software packages (PHA-Pro, PHAST, PHAST RISK, Flaresim, Fred, FLACS, CANARY, etc.).
Should have demonstrated self-initiative and leadership on projects.
Should be able to perform most of the activities without much supervision.
Familiarity with Functional Safety Studies
Willingness to be a lead at times and to be an individual contributor is paramount

Qualified Applicants Should Have the Following: (Requirement)
Years of Experience: 10+
Education Requirements: Master of Science (Ph.D. Preferred) in Process Safety / Chemical Engineering
Technical Qualifications: PE license and/or Certified Functional Safety Engineer is a plus
Softskill Qualifications: Facilitation, Self starter, Good written and verbal communication, strong problem solving abilities to come up with creative solutions
Additional Qualifications: Familiarity with NFPA, IEC 61511, API
Preferred Qualifications' license and/or Certified Functional Safety Engineer is a plus, Fluency in Spanish is a plus
