Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will be responsible for performing all NDE inspections using the machines in the Quality area, Plug Valve Cell and Fitting Cell. This position will participate in the classroom and on-the-job training to obtain a Level I/II Magnetic Particle certification. This position will also provide support to other QA/QC functions.


MAIN TASKS:


· Performs Level I/II non-destructive testing on assigned parts and/or materials in assigned areas of the shop.
· Sets up Technique Sheets.
· Performs hardness testing.
· Operates under internal procedures, Quality System (QS) and external quality certifications to include ISO (Industrial Standards Organization), API (American Petroleum Institute) and other governmental and customer requirements and specifications.
· Read Part Reports(DBI), part drawings and quality instructions to determine dimension specifications, measurements and tests required to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
· Records inspection results and completes NDE reports and related documentation or data entry in an accurate and timely manner.
· Reports and documents nonconforming product on a Quality Notification within SAP.
· Completes SAP transactions for inventory and location moves.
· Stocks materials using material handling equipment when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:


· High School diploma or GED required. BA in Industrial Technology or equivalent preferred.
· Minimum of 1 year quality or manufacturing experience.
· Ability to read and understand drawings. Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
· SAP use and experience preferred.
· Ability to interpret and apply Engineering standards and part reports.
· Must have the ability to use basic inspection equipment.
· Must be able to operate material handling equipment.
· Strong interpersonal skills to interface with co-workers.
· Must achieve Level I/II certification in at least one NDE process.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Exposed to possible shop and lab hazards including heavy equipment and high noise levels. May be exposed to extreme temperatures if working outside.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical position requiring standing, stooping, lifting and bending. Fast and heavy paced environment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include annual eye test in accordance with SNT-TC-1A.
