We are currently looking for an NDE Engineer , reporting to the Core Technologies Manager .

Job Purpose Statement

Working in a global capacity, within Core Technologies in Dunfermline, the NDE Engineer will provide the whole organisation with expert knowledge of all aspects of NDE, including relevant techniques and their application as well as qualification of suppliers and their processes.

The NDE Engineer will take a lead role in the provision of technical support to internal and external customers on activities across the TechnipFMC Global Business Process Management System and to the intent of TechnipFMC Global Work Instructions, legislative and Quality System requirements.

The NDE Engineer role should ensure that all projects and associated activities meet specification, standards, best practice and performance requirements within area of expertise.

Job description
·  As a focal point, within Core Technologies, wholly responsible for all NDE requirements for Dunfermline including research & development, standardization, specification development (including governance and management of change), tendering, product qualification, product execution and supplier support

·  Work closely with Engineering, Sourcing and Supplier Quality - internally, regionally and globally within TechnipFMC - in ensuring a lead role in the provision of NDE-related expertise as required to achieve efficient and effective project and product execution including taking a lead role in NDE technical audits and ensuring NDE requirements are developed with and fully understood by suppliers

·  Work closely with Engineering - internally, regionally and globally within TechnipFMC - and the Customer at quotation stage to provide a lead role in defining NDE / technical requirements as part of tender activities

·  Work closely with Sourcing and Supplier Quality to ensure that the NDE-related aspects of supplier qualification activities are effectively executed and support continuous development of existing and new NDE-related processes at strategic suppliers specific to product supply to TechnipFMC

·  Take a lead role in NDE-based failure investigation, root cause analysis and other significant issues (internal and external), ensuring they are managed, understood and resolved in a logical and timely manner

·  Proactively work across the organisation, not just Dunfermline, to identify, drive and lead NDE-related improvement projects and opportunities based on solid technical / product knowledge

·  Train, mentor and present to junior NDE Engineers, Materials Engineers, Welding Engineers, Design Engineers, as well as non-technical audiences when required, in knowledge of NDE, including relevant techniques and their application as well as qualification of suppliers and their processes

·  Actively participate and take a lead in Regional and Global NDE meetings and subsequent activities including communication of NDE-related technical issues to the global TechnipFMC NDE community and relevant third party organisations

·  Review customer, legislative and industry requirements in order to provide definitive status on compliance of NDE techniques used by TechnipFMC both internally and in the supply chain.

You are meant for this role if you have:

·  Expert knowledge of NDE processes and their application as well as an appreciation of other related materials and welding processes

·  Auditor training and qualification, minimum internal or lead auditor
·  Problem-solving – ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
·  Innovative skills to research and create new products/processes
·  Good organisational skills
·  Knowledge of Lean Process & Product Development (LPPD)
·  Knowledge of specifications (API, NORSOK, etc)
·  Product knowledge
·  HSE appreciation
·  Software packages – SAP, Microsoft Access, Project, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
·  An ability to communicate (oral/written/presentation) at all levels is essential, as is the drive to succeed within a high pressured environment. Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
·  Teamwork, open/flexible approach
·  Portraying a professional image and building credibility

Positions with us are diverse, and we need people with:

·  A degree in Non-Destructive Testing or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·  ASNT and or EN 473/PCN minimum Level II in UT, RT, MT, PT with a commitment to attain Level III certification.

·  Experience in a project/product-driven, technical and hands-on role
