¡ Set-up, operating and oversight of WFL mill turn machine for Tubing hanger body manufacturing.
¡ To ensure part consistently meet or exceed manufacturing, safety and qualityDuties and Responsibilities
Strategy
Duties & Responsibilities:
⢠Identify and provide machining process improvement (safety, quality, productivity, cost) opportunities
⢠Provide Programming, Shop Technical and Supervision support as required by Shop Supervisor / Manager
⢠Act as backup to current pool of WFL / Mazak Programmers
Execution
⢠Other adhoc assignments as required by business needs
⢠Work with Shop Supervisor/Leader as a change agent to lead and guide shop transformation initiatives
⢠Actively participate and sustain high level of 5S
⢠Reviews the CNC program if necessary and identifies possible errors. Performs minor programming or program editing at machine controls if needed
⢠Independently selects the correct tooling to do the job. Gathers required tooling and fixture or places order if necessary
⢠Sets-up machine as required using prescribed manufacturing instruction sheet and program
⢠Calculates speeds, feeds and depths of cuts for machining
⢠Uses material handling equipment to move parts and components to and from work area
⢠Inputs labor details into MES System
⢠Promptly reports any operational problems or safety issues with machinery, tools or equipment to Line Leader
Building Capabilities
⢠Assist Shop Supervisor/Leader in crew training and shop performance monitoring
⢠Follow instructions and able to complete tasks in timely manner
⢠Assists with orientation and teaches other Machinists proper techniques and procedures in mastered areas
⢠Assist leaders in training newly hired junior machinists
targets.
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
¡ Possess at least 3-5 years of working experience in precision machining environment
¡ NITEC in Precision Engineering / Diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent
¡ Proficient with application of measuring instruments, gages and measuring techniques
¡ Ability to use a personal computer or workstation
¡ Knowledge and ability to guide junior machinists
¡ Able to read, write and comprehend simple verbal and written English
¡ Demonstrate ability to interpret engineering drawings with multiple views and machining surfaces
Desired Qualifications:
¡ Must have mastered job layout and developed proficiency on Mill Turn machines (WFL)
¡ Ability and experience to handle Tubing hanger part safely with overhead cranes
¡ Able to understand and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
¡ Able to calculate, set and modify machining parameters (speed, feed, depth of cut etc.)
¡ Able to setup and operate special tools such as Facing Head, ITS tool and Cogs dill bar, ejector drills, angular head etc
¡ Sinumerik programming skills / understanding will be most preferred
