RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Deep Blue VDT Engineer I works in the Vessel Delivery Team and is responsible for producing installation procedures, designing rigging and specifying installation aids. The Deep Blue VDT Engineer I also supports the installation activities onboard the Deep Blue during offshore execution.
The Vessel Delivery Teams (VDTs) are permanent, centralized teams with operational responsibility for tendering, preparation, support, and planning of project installation scope on a given vessel irrespective of operation region. Members of this team are accountable for installation performance and must participate and validate the design of the installed equipment.
The Deep Blue is a pipelay vessel capable of installing rigid or flexible flowlines and risers, umbilicals, and various types of subsea structures.
The key responsibilities are:
• Writes installation procedures, produces rigging design, lift plans, etc
• Produces packing analysis, RDT clashes, stalk sheets etc
• Produces Material Requisitions for installation aids / services and supervises fabrication
• Participates in mobs / demobs preparations. On site to participate in mobs / demobs
• On board during Deep Blue offshore operations
• Produces as built packages
• Ensure all work is compliant with QHSE requirement, corporate, client and regulatory standards
• Writes and maintains standard operating procedures and participates in improvement initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent (Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-training (EIT) preferred). Master's degree is preferred.
• Studies related to oil & gas industry / offshore pipelines preferred, including potential internship in the industry
• Ability to work in the USA
• Ability to obtain a TWIC, BOSIET, and medical certs such as UKOA and/or OGUK.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Demonstrates leadership, initiative, proactivity and motivation.
• Ability to effectively communicate with leadership and provide guidance to team members.
• Must have strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize workloads and to define/maintain cost basis and schedules.
• Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of multi-tasking in a fast paced environment.

• Takes responsibility for delivery and execution.
• Awareness of standards and regulations such as API and DNVGL. Ability to research and apply the required codes to given areas as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office based position with occasional trips offsite/offshore.
• 75% office environment and 25% field (onshore / offshore) environment.
• Travel required to support business trips and/or project execution (mobilization, demobilization and offshore operations) domestically and internationally.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Frequent sitting and operating a computer when in the office.
• Frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs / ladders while onboard the vessel, as well as exposure to sea conditions (vessel movement, summer heat, etc.)
