Position Overview

This position reports to our Controls Subsea Services department in Houston, TX. Controls Services Engineering group is responsible for the upfront and execution engineering work of Controls and IWOCS assets such as subsea control modules (SCM), SCM ancillary equipment (test stands, flushing plates, running tools, etc.), Topsides equipment (Subsea Power and Communication Test Unit (SPCTU), Human-Machine Interface (HMI), Umbilical Line Monitor (ULM), Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), etc.), Hydraulic Distribution equipment (Logic Cap (LP), ILC (Intermediate Logic Cap), Hydraulic Flying Lead (HFL), Steel Flying Lead (SFL), multiple quick connect (MQC) products, etc.), Electrical Distribution equipment (sensor harness, Electrical Flying Lead (EFL), Multi-Phase Flow Meter (MPFM), etc.), IWOCS equipment (reeler, Umbilical Termination Head (UTH), Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU), etc.).The scope of work for these assets includes inspections, refurbishments, upgrades, testing, modifications, mobilization, demobilization, and preservation.

Responsibilities may include:

·  Manages the technical scope of delivering a full or partial equipment list as provided by Project Manager
·  On time delivery of entire scope of assigned project
·  Project status reporting
·  No direct reports, but often leads one or more professionals or technicians on a project basis
·  Participates as a fully contributing member of a project team
·  Often leads projects or the solving of problems
·  Develops strong relationships with customer and technical service personnel
·  Shares opinions, ideas and resources with others to achieve common goals; fosters teamwork and collaboration, builds trust
·  Interprets and applies relevant policies & procedures
·  Analyzes and interprets data independently. Anticipates potential problems and takes preventative action. Participates in the project planning and schedule process.
·  Performs visual inspection of equipment as needed
·  Prepares and/or assigns work instructions to Service Orders
·  Creates/updates engineering documentation under the guidance of Engineering Technical Leads
·  Creates Service Orders for assigned projects
·  Performs BOM analysis to determine parts needed for scope completion
·  Provide troubleshooting support for Work in Progress as needed
·  Supports Field non-conformance investigations
·  Participates in planning and scheduling projects
·  Consults with other departments on equipment designs and questions
·  Identifies root cause of problems
·  Develops alternative solutions and communicates associated benefits and risks
·  Prepares reports on engineering project assignments
·  Participates in product and task standardization projects
·  Provides tenders to project team for requested work scopes which include cost estimation and duration.

Position Qualifications

Basic/required:

·  Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
·  BS degree in Engineering required
·  2 or more years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or Project Engineer
·  Working knowledge of specific process technologies, procedures, products and applications
·  Strong computer proficiency with applicable software applications in related field
·  Advanced analytical and problem solving
·  Accuracy and attention to detail important
·  Ability to establish deadlines for self and manage priorities is critical
·  Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are important
·  Ability to work in a team-oriented environment is important
·  Ability to build effective relationships with peers and co-workers and customers
·  Proficiently communicate ideas and concepts with ability to persuade and influence others as needed
·  Effective understanding and communication within diverse cultural environments
·  Possess good PC skills and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
·  Embodies a customer-oriented attitude and the ability to work independently without close supervision

Work Environment:

Office environment, with frequent exposure to Workshop Environment. Possible exposure to hazards such as noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, high pressure chemicals, etc. while working in Engineering laboratory, assembly areas and field service applications. Fast paced environment with repetitive transactions. Multiple priorities and constant change.

Physical Demands:

Spends 60% of time sitting and operating a computer or workstation. Spends 40% of time lifting, pushing, and walking. Some climbing.
