As our new Apprentice you will:

·  be part of a 4 year competence based scheme comprising of on and off the job training. The scheme is run in conjunction with North East Of Scotland College Fraserburgh Campus.
·  follow the SEMTA (Science Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies Alliance) Modern Apprenticeship Technician framework.
·  develop skills with regard to modelling and animation using Autodesk 3ds Max software alongside their draughting core skills.

The positions with us are diverse, and we need people who have demonstrated ability to lead, and work as part of a multi-functional and multi-cultural network / team. The nature of our business means that no two challenges or days are ever the same.

Did you know:

SEMTA framework consists of Performing Engineering Operations in Manufacturing, an SVQ Level III in Engineering Technical Support and a HNC in Mechanical Engineering.

The PEO is equivalent to an SVQ Level II and is the foundation phase of the apprenticeship, it is workshop based focusing on core engineering workshop skills.

The HNC in Mechanical engineering is a classroom based course which centres around solving mathematical problems which are applied to mechanical engineering principles.

The SVQ Level III in Engineering Technical Support is a sector specific qualification which is focused on Engineering Drawing in this case. This is completed in the office whereby the apprentice creates a portfolio of work over the course of their apprenticeship and this is examined in stages by an assessor and by the drawing office training co-ordinator.

Both the PEO and HNC are completed over the first 2 years of the apprenticeship, the SVQ Level III begins in the 2nd year and ends in the final year of the apprenticeship.

You are meant for this job if:

·  you have an eye for detail and creative talent
·  you have an awareness of 3D visualisation and modelling
·  you have following qualifications:
·  School leaver: National 5: English
·  Higher : Mathematics, Science (preferably Physics), Craft & Design / Graphic Communication
·  College leaver: NC and/or HNC in Engineering (preferably Mechanical)
